Agreed. Adkins needs to be just as accountable for his signings as previous managers were. But you wish to give Adkins the chance to extend the number of incredibly poor players he signs?
The mind boggles.
Adkins' signings haven't been any better than the so called "shit" that Clough signed.

Actually, I hold you far more accountable than myself for giving him oxygen and keeping him here.It was a reasonable question and I almost asked it myself.
Looks like you've yet again taken a thread down the pan![]()
I don't have a problem with that. He seems to have valid point, how he articulates them isn't really my style and his views are a little more extreme than mine, but then it seems that most on here aren't overly happy with things at the club at the moment...You think like Barny.. Just saying
Yes, not to mention the inability to sign in priority order. Why he didn't sign 2 CB's first still remains quite an unbelievable mystery. He's still not done it even now, he brought one in 2 months late, but that's overridden by his appalling judgement because he's just as woefully inadequate as the others. He couldn't even be bothered to sign another one, despite the almost universally known fact that at least 2 have been and are still desperately needed. Arrogance is the only cause for something as ridiculous as that.Agreed. Adkins needs to be just as accountable for his signings as previous managers were.
It puzzles me that the the board were willing to publicly criticise Clough for his individual actions at a macro level, when Adkins is being allowed to make exactly the same mistakes:
- signing unfit players - Hammond
- signing injury prone players - Edgar
- signing players then not playing them - Woolford
- playing players inconsistently and dropping them - scougall, reed, done, Wallace, MaGahey, McNulty, Sammon
Actually, I hold you far more accountable than myself for giving him oxygen and keeping him here.
If he wasn't beating your drum you wouldn't have defended him in the way you have.

I think there is a lot of arrogance in the club and it's certainly seemed to have clouded judgement this season. I don't think Adkins has that arrogance particularly but I think he's allowed himself to get sucked into the belief that we'd walk the league...Yes, not to mention the inability to sign in priority order. You'll also find that you've engaged in debate with and encouraged him, when hardly anyone wants to. I think you're being a bit irrational about the club at the minute because you're upset about Clough, and you're happy to have some company. You'll find that you've reacted to him far more than anyone else. As I said, he had a good point.
Blimey! You won't let it go will you?!?You'll also find that you've engaged in debate with and encouraged him, when hardly anyone wants to. I think you're being a bit irrational about the club at the minute because you're upset about Clough, and you're happy to have some company.
He's an absolute downer on the forum - that's clearly almost unanimous. I have no idea why you want to engage with him, just as you (like to keep pointing out) have an issue with my interaction with him.

If you want to take issue with my interaction with Barny (remember, it's several times you've hinted at this, so me "not letting it go" is a bit rich), then you should do it in the knowledge of what's gone on beforehand. It's fine for you to not follow clique's, but then I'd suggest it's not fine for you to take issue on those "clique's" if you don't want to engage in the context.Blimey! You won't let it go will you?!?
I don't follow the cliques of who's hot and who's not on this forum, I also don't appreciate being told who I should engage with on here. You'll find that other than when I'm taking the piss/ having a laugh, I'll engage pretty much anyone on here if they can debate in a reasonable manner. I've no issues with barney, so why would I have a vendetta with him or any other poster on here? Because you and others say so?
To get back on the point, I've no allegiance to Clough, what I have is a desire to see Adkins perform better (or as well as) him to justify the boards decision to relieve him of his duties. I'd love to see some action from him, not just positive words and plans for the future.
Thing is that i dont think we're that bad to slip that far again, we were unbelievably bad under weir. Adkins does have experience and that will count for a lot. It's rare we'll go a full 90 mins without having a good spell, but defensively he simply has to get us solid again. It all depends on how the next two months go, if we dragged into a relegation dogfight by the end of January then I can see them firing Adkins and going down the Bladey Blade route of Deane and Morgan.
Strange. You've engaged with me and my posts more than anyone else.I have no idea why you want to engage with him, just as you (like to keep pointing out) have an issue with my interaction with him.

I think you should adopt the last sentence as your mantra a lot more. I couldn't really give a shit if you've had a lovers tiff with barny or anyone else. The only reason I mentioned it again was because your first response to his reasonable post was to tell him to "fuck off nob head", that's why I commented. If you want to take issue with my interaction with Barny (remember, it's several times you've hinted at this, so me "not letting it go" is a bit rich), then you should do it on the knowledge of what's gone on beforehand. For the sake of this thread, I won't comment further here.

I'd rather we drew 0-0 three or four games running and not making defensive errors. We need to keep this run with the same back 5 going, as much as I don't rate Collins, we need a solid base and if we can stop conceding we've got a chance to push towards the top 6
.....................to be the next Manager. I'm not saying when it should happen, but I think he should be groomed & nurtured to take on the role in the future.
We need to give Adkins a fair chance, but his inability to motivate this set of players & the constant swopping & changing are not encouraging for the future. How many times have we heard about when this player returns & that player returns? Well apart from Brayford they have all returned, or those of any consequence anyway, & it is still the same!
Other clubs with limited resources & low crowds are putting us to shame, not that we have a right to success, we are what we are because of our performances. Just look at Coventry, Burton, Gillingham etc.....But come on what we are seeing is very ordinary.
This is not an appeal for a manager change, but rather looking to the future so that next time we know who is taking over. Someone who I feel has a genuine link with the club & feels something of my pain every Saturday.
I am very disappointed in Mr Adkins so far, but there is along way to go! The trouble is we look more mediocre by the week & Adkins looks like someone who is unable to do anything about it!
It's Saturday but Sunday's coming!
Strange. You've engaged with me and my posts more than anyone else.
So you've no idea why others temporarily carry out the action you've been doing to far more of a degree?
I'm just having a little think about how much sense that makes.
Completely agree, think top six will be attainable though if we switch on a bitWith the best will in the world I don't see us challenging for promotion this season. Tuesday's game is important as it's winnable and there are not that many coming up in the next month you can say that about.
Why are you persisting to comment things that are about as relevant as your obsession with my season ticket?Do you do a lot of thinking?
We've won about 3 in the last 12 games. Consistency of team selection can sometimes be overrated. Not that I want Deano (or anyone else) brought in, but Adkins has been pretty dreadful so far this season.
In the same way folks were saying that, rather than carry out his rebuild, Cloughy only needed to add quality in a few key positions at the start of 2014/15, Adkins only needed to make certain key decisions at the start of this season (rather than trying to be mates with every single player & generously giving them all a chance).
Rather than blaming the board or the players, I squarely blame Adkins for our underachievement this season, so far.
Even so, looking for encouragement, we are getting some consistency of selection now & we are seeing a clear-out proceeding week by week. And, maybe, we are belatedly developing some resilience. Go back a month or so, & we would have lost to the galacticos of both Southend & Walsall.
Hopefully now, on Tuesday, we can show we can get onto the front foot & force the pace against one of the division's weakest sides. I'm imagining the first XI will be pretty much the same.
No thanks. I want him to be a big success as a manager, but we'd doom him and I don't want my hero worship spoiled.

I'm sorry, we could have whoever managing us, but this board would scupper him before a ball has even been kicked, just like clough, and just like Adkins..
Is investment bs has done nothing for us whatsoever, argue all you like but a few seats and a shiny pitch, meh...
Prince arrived, macdonald is sold at the start of the season..
Next season, magure sold.....
This season, Murphy sold......
Che Adams will not be our player either this season or the next, possibly him and Baxter as well.... Selling club, and if this carries on we could go down because this squad of players are useless journeymen on the whole...
Any body who attracts interest is sold, and surprise surprise, if you're any good you attract interest..
