If I was Wilder, I wouldn't have him kick a ball again. But then, Wilder is clearly pretty spineless when it comes to lazy, unmotivated players--he still plays Lundstram and Enda when they're clearly not interested.

He gets a season in the Championship to prove to us he can cut it. Yes he played there before and yes he scored goals. Yes he is young and should improve. But so far any time I have seen him play he looks lost. Just not reading the game well enough or working hard enough to get on the ball.

That said I Don’t really buy that argument about we havent got a pot to piss in.... £24m pays a hell of a lot of wages. It’s like paying 2 players 60k a week on 4 year contracts. The resources have been used...

But If we weren’t able to compete we should’ve picked up someone like Toney (who will get sold for 20m plus or promoted and be in the PL next season either way) for less than 10m and we could have spent the difference on wages for someone else or a loan signing of better quality than ampadu.

wilders issue has been that money has been frittered. It’s fine when you are taking a punt on players for free in league 1 or Clayton Donaldson in the championship.

but take the waste of money on Freeman, Robinson, it was probably close to a 15m investment all in and we got fuck all for it. Berge we will struggle to get more than 75% of what we spend on him. Brewster has time but the signs are not exactly promising from this season.

let’s be fair - snap judgements like that can make you look like an idiot.

people massively underestimate the mental side of the game and confidence. Players are human they can’t just turn things off and on.

Brewster came in with

• no preseason,
• first time in the division,
• new city,
• new side and one who barely score a goal every 2 games anyway and

- side with basically no players playing well.
- Getting beaten every single week

The amount of abuse ramsdale took should also let people realise things can take time to settle - I’ve been guilty of this also no doubt. But Now He’s probably been out best player in 2021.

No one is saying don’t criticise but we have to be fair and snap judgements don’t really help all. We just need to Think back to the likes of coutts, K Freeman, Basham, JOC who all took time to settle before excelling for us and were all scapegoats for a while. billy sharp took three seperate spells here before delivering for us. If anything that should suggest time and the right system are needed to get the best out of players. Now It’s up to wilder to find a system that works and does what we bought Brewster in to do!!!

The problem for me is that the midfield don't get enough ball and when they push forward the delivery into the box is almost always very poor and yet we want and expect our forward line to be scoring well. We need to ditch Lundstram and Norwood, bring in our own youngsters for the rest of the season and get balls going in playing as a 4 to not get overwhelmed, not a 3, and then comment on who is putting themselves about and causing the opposition trouble and has the composure to finish it off. We all know Billy does but he is not the one with pace, Burke and Brewster are.

Just watched the training vid with didzy and he joking alludes to Rhian having not done much upper body gym work previously which is interesting. If that is the case and the club get him and on decent strength and conditioning regime in the off season it could improve him a lot given his size. Billy is a similar height/style of player and one of his best attributes is his upper body strength which allows him to compete against physically bigger players and Brewster could do with working on it.

If he had McBurnie's game time and shown the same as him, nothing, then I would think it was another clanger dropped but I'm not giving up on him just yet. I think with a long and healthy stay in the team he will come good and be a really good player for us, get plenty of goals next season to fire us back up. Will be ever be worth £23 million, certainly doesn't look like it at the moment but time will tell, I personally think there is a player in there but he needs to be playing every week. McBurnie will never improve or progress as a player, he just won't as he has not got the body as he gets older to progress into a better athlete and player, Brewster for me still has plenty of maturing to do and is not quite in his man body just yet, I'd play him every game from now till the end of the season regardless if he scores or not and just see how he progresses because he certainly is not going to improve sat on the bench watching that lump of wood playing up front for us ahead of him.
