I dont know if it's true but I read there was a rule that if an out of contract player doesn't find a new club in July they get a final pay from the club. Think it was said in relation. To Bannan. I am assuming for brewster this will be alot more money then he will be being offered elsewhere. Bit of a joke really considering he didn't earn his wage most of the time here anyway.

Brewster will have multiple offers and is likely waiting to see where the chips fall

I hope he comes back but if he doesnt good luck to him
"Multiple offers " ??

So he thought he'd miss all pre season (the most important part of the season for fitness) to be sat wondering where to sign?

Brewster is better than cacares , ukaki , one

He is on a level with brooks / cannon
Brewster 4 goals 3 assists in 1,944 mins
Brooks 4 goals 2 assists in 1,184 mins
Cannon 12 goals 2 assists in 2.768 mins

I’d be the first to admit Cannon wasn’t well utilised but what’s your criteria to put Brewster on par with those two? If you’re a forward, let’s not complicate things, football is about output. Based on a decent sample size, he’s not as productive as either. You can say he doesn’t play as an out and out striker if you want but then that doesn’t hold water when you contrast with Brooks who was in and out and still more effective given the output vs minutes.

Then, whether you like to include this or not, a player needs to justify their value. Set aside his fee, his wages were about 28k per week. Far in excess of the other two. He just doesn’t justify his cost by his output.

Caceres is going to be about 6th choice in midfield, Ukaki probably similar in the forwards, Oné will be a back up. That’s their role. We’d be paying Brewster front line wages for a back up role and a contribution that doesn’t justify it.

Love the kid. His attitude is great. He’s got infectious enthusiasm but he just doesn’t contribute anywhere near enough for the finances to make sense.

Likewise in a one off game, where big moments matter, I still can’t comprehend how you pick Brewster over Rak-Sakyi; the latter showed he could be a match winner.

Is it me who doesn't get the comments re. Brewster. What an enigma,

People called him a £24m player - he wasn't, we got sucked into the ploy of a the English premium. It is like going to the airport, you don't wanna pay £9 for a pint but you're deep in now and that's what you end up doing. Value alone it's worth half the price.

Saying that, I think this hype along with injuries just slowed him down and he never became the player that I did think was there which is a shame.

I still think there is a player in there of some sorts, but the way he is talked about playing in a different role last year sounds like he was a prime Kaka at time. He was ok and relatively comfortable as a useful alternative but I don't think he set the world alight for a top 2 chasing team. Maybe it was just me.

I actually stand by he's a finisher and played on the last shoulder , which seriously became restricted though either tactics, level of football or injuries. I hope he perseveres as a striker.

Did he warrant enough for a new deal - Not for me if the demands speculated were true. Do we need to replace him - Yes.

I think a mid-table team will come in and get him and with confidence he will flourish. I wish him well, other than against us.

Brewster is an odd player. Throughout his time with us, for a striker, he didn't actually miss many chances; he just never appeared to get into the right position or make the right runs for me. No football brain whatsoever. Love his attitude and will always remember both his goal vs Wednesday and his fantastic volleyed goal at Blackburn.

Slim pickings when you factor in the length of time he was here .
I will never forget what he did at Luton right infront of my eyeballs...
Me and my mate just looked at each other in astonishment.
I wish him no ills .....however I find it really strange that he is still with out a club ...
Must have too high an opinion of himself, and pricing himself out of the market

Luton? Remind me?

Can only think he's going to a country with a different calendar. I'm sure he's hired personal trainers, but missing the English pre-season feels unthinkable for a lad that's had such bad luck with his body.

Always wished the best for him and will continue to do so.

He'll be financially secure for life already and should have signed a new contract with us as soon as it was presented to him. You think he'd be keen to repay the fans who remarkably have, on the whole, not got on his back.

I've always thought he'll end up in Türkiye, there's a lot of money being spent there at the moment, fresh start in a new country, i think he'd do well in that league and his mum is Turkish Cypriot.

Also was thinking this but just looked and season starts same time.

Saudi season starts late August.

MLS starts around October I think.

Good to have choices, but if it's between the money league, graveyard league and Türkiye with European completion i know which one id pick.

🇹🇷 incase of doubt

On his time at the Blades: "It was a bit of a rollercoaster with relegations and injuries, but also positives as well"

It’s a GLTTL but unfortunately for him and others, will be forever remembered for a period when we were spunkin munneh when we said we wouldn’t !!!!
