Just as a matter of interest, how does this work for the club?

Do we flog tickets to living social for a nominal amount (say a fiver) and they sell them on at a profit, or are they acting as an "agent" and we pick up the £9 for each ticket sold?

Good idea getting a crowd in for a televised match but it seems a bit cheap if there's a third party taking a cut along the way.

Most sites like livingsocial (Groupon etc) charge a 50% commission on the advertised price with a minimum payment due: basically the risk is almost all on the company using the social discounter rather than the discounter themselves.

I would have thought that United figure that it's worth getting 1,000 tickets sold for what otherwise would have been empty seats.

I'm pretty sure it's a 50/50 split on everything sold. A special rate might have been negotiated due to the amount that could possibly be sold.

It can't be as much as 50% surely?? i would expect it to be more like the fee's that ebay and amazon charge 10-15%

I thought with Groupon it was something like 50/50 but then there was an arrangement fee ontop too
