Brentford - rearranged match

This Monday or Tuesday...either that or it's musical fixtures between us, Brentford, crewe and crawly.

Given the pile up id's affecting more than just us now, extending the season would seem a sensible option. So it won't happen...

It really has to be this Tuesday, I can't see where else it will fit in. Given we play Friday 29th, Monday 1st and Sat 6th, Wed 10th Brentford got a game, Sat 13th, Tue 16th, Sat 20th, Tue 23rd and last match of season 27th Unless they stupidly arrange a Thursday night game!

Given the state of Sheffield today, there's no guarantee a game this Tuesday would be playable.

Could we shift Crawley to Tuesday 9th and play Brentford on the 16th??

That's what i was thinking. It's going to be barely above freezing for the next couple of days, and there's more snow forecast tuesday morning.

So disappointed as this game was televised on the internet.I can't believe a police inspector has been given the power to call off a professional football match.close an impassable road yes but to comment on steps with snow on them at the ground a bit much.
Never had a pro hockey game here called off for snow due to walkways or snow on roads and it gets alot deeper here man up coppers.
My other gripe is with the ref what kind of idiot would find a hotel room on the outskirts when there is a forecast of snow and he has to perform a pitch inspection in the city. You can bet the Sky crew were bedded down nice and close to the ground just in case.

To be fair it isn't like there are any hotels near the actual ground though is it...

The pitch is part covered in snow and water logged down the touchline of the south stand I don't think the surrounding roads or footpaths would have been considered, the pitch is unplayable.

If the pitch is in kind of condition it is the right decision.
Surely the FA could have paid for a room in the Copthorne for the ref especially with it being scheduled for Sky coverage with the threat of snow. There must be standby officials that are available in case something happens to the designated ref or linos.

I sure hope it is ,Sky missed out today people stuck at home in front of the tv a captive audience and footy gets cancelled.
With our luck it will be rescheduled on the same night as a Champions League or Premier League game.

If it gets rescheduled for this Tuesday there's some World Cup Qualifier going on, which, if England defenders keep crying off, Harry could well get called up for. Ho hum...

Does Sky still pay the Blades for the tv rights or is it cancelled if the game is called off.
If the club lost tv money due to pedestrian approaches and roads being unsafe the club should go after the council.

Since it was an act of god, i think we should sue the church.

If the FL and Crawley think about this, they will see it as the best solution.

Otherwise Crawley face playing 7 games in 15 days at some point given they have fit in Crewe as well !

This would be the best possible result for SUFC or we will be facing 5 games in 11 days at some point if they make it a Thursday.

I assuming there is no chance of us v Brentford being rearranged for this coming Tuesday.

I am convinced that all these events are this year's plan from the footballing gods to fuck us up again.

Games in hand are not an kind of bonus you might imagine.
Matches we might have won will be draws as the lads will be out on their feet
Matches we might have drawn we will potentially lose as the fixture pile up takes its toll.
It's too much to ask at the end of a hard season when we have a lack of creativity in the first place.

We put this pressure on ourselves by failing to beat the likes of Hartlepool, stevenage, bury, Scunthorpe. If we'd turned some of those draws and losses into victories, we could afford to lose a couple of games towards the end of the season.

No complaints from me about the fixture pile up
