It's a criminal waste of talent keeping him at right back when he has so much influence on the team.

John Brayford hasn't been 'wasting' his talent at RB. He's been performing to a very good standard in that position in the Championship for a number of years. The season before his move to Cardiff he was regarded by many as the best full back in the Championship. Leave him there, he's just finding his feet again and hasn't got anywhere near back to his best yet but he's improving game by game.

So he is brilliant in the role he spent his career in (Right Back/Right Wing Back) and you want to move him out of that position into a position that he doesn't know. I have to ask if you are mental? What next, Messi in net? Ronaldo Centre Half because he is good in the air?

To be fair when we first signed him on loan a Derby supporting colleague told me Brayford had played a few games in the middle for them when they had a few injuries and was immense

No idea what the O/P's done to warrant such sensitive, offended responses but I suppose that's just what happens on here with new posters. It's a fair enough point of view and Brayford does have the attributes, on the surface at least, to play in that position and do well there in this division. But what you'll never know until you try is the positional side of it. At centre half where he's played before you've got everything in front of you and focus only on defending, it's very different in midfield. It is worth a try, ideally in a three man midfield, which would alleviate some of the individual responsibility for him. If you spend £2m on someone as a third division club ideally you'd have the player in a position where he can have more influence than at right back. These position changes do occasionally work for players. If not, move him back to right back, no big deal. But we should try it.

I agree with that wholeheartedly. Quite a few people have suggested that Brayford is captain material but I really don't see why. He's not very vocal on the pitch at all and rarely converses with the officials.

A likeable member of the squad, definitely. He's also clearly popular and has a great work ethic. He is in no way a leader though which is what we are lacking most, unless Hammond continues with performances like his one on Sunday.

Kieran Freeman had done nothing wrong before being dropped for Brayford and Alcock is also quality in that positon. Its just the old headache of how to accommodate a glut of good players in the same position.

Freeman is not a particularly good defender and often takes up bad positions. Alcock is average.
On one hand you're criticising Adkins for playing square pegs in round holes but on the other advocating doing exactly that.
And now you've turned a post about Brayford into another dig at Adkins.
