Last season we had Coutts and Freeman on the list, but, they were in and around the first team for pre-season and training etc. This guy has been frozen out. For me this is the ONLY questionable thing that CW has done since joining the Blades.

I can only think that there are some shenanigans going on with Clough and Burton behind the scenes. I' feel more sorry for Done. He's not good enough but he's not even played for the U-23s in pre-season.

I find it embarrassing how quickly some supporters 'turn' on players, I'd like to think it's a minority but I just don't know. It's similar to the lack of appreciation for certain players (e.g. Sharp last season) and does seem to be a trait amongst some of our fans. I'm sure CW has deservedly bought himself breathing space but God forbid, we were to have another bad run, how long before the knives are sharpened...

Youngish footballer, fashionable trendy type, dyes hair and beard in 2017. What a cunt. Wouldn't have happened in my day etc. let's lynch him before he gets away.

Really? With hindsght it didn't go well for him but his 4 promotions and various goodwill from other clubs he has managed suggested at the time he was a good appointment. I do remember blade too long turning 180 degrees mid season but I don't remember too many others wading in early doors.

Can't see why not. CW won't want to use him or Done in friendlies as he won't want to risk them getting injured but I can't see him just completely freezing them out. I don't think either have done anything wrong, they're just not in his plans.
 
Clearly he's not frozen out like others have said. I reckon he will end up playing for us again at some point, nobody seems interested so he's just got to get his head down and hope for a chance.

So Jim Phipps signed him.

He was desperate to join us and we wanted him as well.

He has had if my memory serves me rightly 2 bad injuries since rejoining. Things haven't worked out for him here since he rejoined but it isn't all his fault is it?

If CW doesnt see him as part of his plans then so be it. Let us part ways and try & resolve it quickly. No need for some of the comments ive seen here.

Agree, a hero walked in just when we needed one.

His application in his come back at Park Steels was immense and probably set him back months.

Top bloke, top attitude and deserves none of the shite he has been getting on here.

Good luck for the future John, a few more with his attitude wouldn't have seen us on the third.

no me neither but I'm sure I'd read he wasn't training with us, maybe that was wrong then
 
Is Brayford doing the full training with us or is he crocked? Report in the Star this June said "The 29-year-old made 34 appearances for Burton last season, but sources close to the Pirelli Stadium suggest he played through injuries at times and was placed on a reduced training schedule through the week."

Also he has no photo on the OS player listings (the only one). Makes me suspect he is 3rd choice and won't turn out for us again - unless we are in a crisis or losing to Walsall in a cup competition again. Suppose we will have to wait and see if he is sent on as a sub late on as Centre Forward against them and then moves on a lucrative contract to the States after turning down a loan move to Carlisle. :rolleyes:
 
If what you say is true then perhaps wilder is preventing a move to Burton? Surely Brayford should have been returned if injured.

In both pictures I've seen since his return he's half hiding behind another player. Looks like he doesn't wanna be here.
 

I watched Brayford very closely when he appeared on the box for Burton last year.

I made specific references to the fact that the mobility in his knee was severely restricted. There will be posts going back to around September time confirming this. An injury that occurred while protecting the Blades conceding a goal, if memory serves !

It appears this continues to be a major problem for a very likeable character who,quite obviously, has ability.

While it appears that the above assertion is somewhat (or indeed bang on) accurate, the knifes that are a large selection of current Sheffield United supporters continue to twist and turn their weapon of choice, conveniently ignoring the fact that a player, not so long ago hero worshipped,fights to prolong his career.

In summary, there is a large contingent of our support that would do very well to have a long, constructive and judgemental look in the mirror !
