When I was a little lad, my uncle Frank was a bus driver for Sheffield Transport Department. At that time there was a bus depot/garage at the top of Bramall Lane. Frank had a VERY broad Sheffield accent, and he called it "Brammer Lane" (as did me dad, his brother). Until I was about 15 I thought it was pronounced and spelled "Brammer Lane ".
