Bramall lane atmosphere

“Ultras” ……honestly.

I, like most, love it when the lane is loud. We have a solid selection of songs filled with irony and bile for the pigs. Love for our own players, most steeped in the history of the club.

My concern is a dedicated area with drums removes a lot of the above. It makes the stadium sound like a video game. Same two songs 90 minutes. It screams of plastic football.

Trying to emulate other cultures of bouncing around, drums and some bloke with his shirt off orchestrating noise is just emulating passion. We also lost back few rows of Kop for standing up and singing seems daft

I’ve watched the full “closing ceremony” of Goodson park. I’m getting emotional watching a team I’ve got no affinity too leave a ground I’ve never been to…. If we ever leave Bramall Lane I don’t think I could bring myself to go to the final game after watching this. It’d be far too emotional.

It's not like Goodison is being demolished. The club will still use it. People can still watch games there - just not the men's first team.

Sitting up in the BL corner the noise generated by G&H was exhilarating and the instantaneous barbed responses to the away fans are always hilarious. But it made me think, with so many of our best songs having profanities in them…Is it any wonder the BL crowd noise doesn’t always come through so well on TV…Maybe a nervous sound engineer has got his hand on the fader button for most of the match?

It would be great if all the SU fans could sing in unison like at Bramall Lane the other night

Johnny blades version which he sang at the tribute game changing fucking to flipping. I think that does that job and is what I have been singing my 2 girls.

Easiest way to improve the atmosphere is to create a ‘singing section’, which would probably be G+H block south stand. Ideally with safe standing in place.

Concentrate all the fans who want to create an atmosphere together.

Obviously would need some fan coordination which is why it would never happen
