He earned my respect by carrying on at Villa whilst both of his parents died and was getting dogs abuse at the same time.

It was certainly 'coincidental' that he joined at a time when that lot had the easiest run in of the season. But to say he was hiding etc in my opinion is just wrong.

If we are in for him, then maybe he is available for £8m. Blackburn do apparently need to fund themselves and may be getting real with valuations.

I'd be quite split on this.

For £8m, I think he's good value.

But I think he's a bit short of the level you'd want for the PL.

But I think he's an excellent fit for the Duffy role, with additional goalscoring potential.

It should be pointed out that a huge percentage of his goals last season were scrambled in from inside the 6 yard box. That may change some perceptions. You can look at it two ways. His goals weren't the types you'd expect him to be scoring, and may represent a purple patch and flatter him a bit. Or those poacher instincts mean he could play as a second striker and be a big goal threat.

I don't think there's any issue with his character. His application has been consistently good at Blackburn, and he seems well liked.

I joked earlier in the thread, but I would like him at the right price. He’s not worth anywhere near the £20m Blackburn we’re touting last year.

Double swoop for him and Lenihan, £15m? Would be reasonable business in today’s climate.

What worries me, probably mean more what makes me question Dack is our system works because Duffy finds pockets of space, creates the triangles between cb and rwb which makes us successful. I don’t see this in Dack. Maybe it’s in the plan to evolve but myself I would prefer that intelligent space finder
