Player Suggestion Bradley Dack

Blackburn - much smaller crowds than us and just been relegated spend £750k on a player. Meanwhile, our Board can't stump up less than that for our main targets. The big investment will come when we get in the Championship they said. Yeah, right.

Buying Dack for £750k is the sort of stupid thing we would have done under Adkins or Clough. No way is he worth this amount. He is over weight and slow. Scored a great goal against us last season then faded and did nothing else. Thank God we have a sensible manager who won't pay over the odds. We have finally learned our lesson. If Blackburn are wasting money like this they will drop into L2 the season after.

All true. Looking back on this thread, some people were quoting £10m  for Dack. Based on what? £750,000 is about right and he's barely Div. One standard. In five years at Gillingham (the only productive spell in his career), Dack scored 31 goals in 160 appearances, or less than a goal every five games. In his spells at Oldham and the Blades our own 'boy wonder' Jose Baxter scored 35 goals in 136 appearances, or a goal every 3.88 games. (Been offered a 12-month contract at Everton BTW). But what do I know?

Posted Aug. 18, 2016:

Problem is Wilder and the board are unaware the money tree roots have reach L1 and still expect a few hundred grand and our Billy big bollox name will do the trick.

Shit we are buying is guaranteed to keep us in this league or worse.

Disclaimer, I make all posts in anger and without thinking things through and are part of my anger management programme therefore, if we do well and get promoted I always had faith in the players and the board.

Sorry, Blade56! :D

I bet Gillingham wish they had accepted the alleged £3m bids the other summer...
It was £2m, in the JTW. When Gills were pushing for promotion. They 'showed ambition' by turning down the bid, shortly after he got injured and has never been the same since.

Well he seems to be having a good season for Blackburn and could be the replacement we need if Brooks is sold or as a sub when Duffy tires later in a game or is injured.

We are clearly short in midfield and there won' be many better midfield players around at our price point. Wilder is proven with 'wayward'players and I was surprised to see he won't be 24 until the end of the month.

While we're at it Mulgrew wouldn' be a bad signing from Blackburn either.

We'd probably have as much success of nicking Dack and Mulgrew from Blackburn as we did Lenihan

I know a couple of Blackburn fans and they say he's been a class apart this season for them.

I'm sure he'll be on our radar if the management / scouts are happy with his attitude etc.

I imagine Blackburn would want more than we’d be willing to pay for him. They allegedly paid £750k for him.

Having said, if we do end up selling Brooks he’d probably be an adequate replacement.

Allegedly turned down £15m bid from West Brom - worlds gone mad if true, for all parties.

I was one of the few on here that said we should have signed him right before Blackburn did. He's Baxter without the narcotics, excellent player, wand of a left foot, just carries a little weight. Good player.

I think you've just described me, maybe 30 years to old but still game....

Is there any reason why we've not been linked with this lad? He's at the right age, got something to prove, scores and creates goals. It's a winner for me!

Various rags reckon he'll cost upwards of 18m.

So... that's why.

Derby are sniffing and Blackburn are looking for around £8m. Dack is my personal choice for the no.10 position and is a player very much on the up.

He's inconsistent (he didn't make Blackburn's team at times last season!), his love for a night out of well known and he hasn't played above Champ level. He may well be good enough on his day but I'd say he would be a gamble no matter what he'd cost.
