For the few on here who saw that game in 79, it has been a long long time coming.

But, that's it for me - boxing day avenged.

I think Boxing Day was avenged during the Bobby Davison match and doing the double over them.
But it won't be avenged in the mind of a pig unless by some miracle we have to play them on Boxing Day again and beat them 5-0
An ordinary 5-0 won't count if it isn't done on Boxing Day

Boxing Day was my first away match as a 12yo on their 'kop' with my Blade mad Mum. I've waited 38 years to banish that horrible day and I can now honestly say that if I was to die tonight I would die a happy and contented man, I must admit I had a tear in my eye at full-time, so my heartfelt thanks go to Sir Chris Wilder, every single player, the backroom staff, everybody associated with Sheffield United and most of all you fellow Blades near and far......All Blades Aren't We.

The St Bobby Davison night nearly made up for it....But this really has done!

I was ther on the NW terrace in the pouring rain, banging on that corrugaated iron fence at the Stadium of Rust, and swore that I should never go to such a shit hole again....thought I did once......But only once!

I was there in 79 with my Dad. He's 80 now and phoned me tonight to ask if this had avenged that day. He's felt guilty for nearly 40 years for taking me there.

Was fortunate to be at the Bobby Davison game too but stuffing 4 past them has exorcised it all for me today.

Never forget that Boxing Day. Wife had bought me an original share in sufc. None of my match mates would go due to family commitments so I went on my own. got back and sat down for diner and my brother in law rang (we had just had a phone installed) and said what's half a share of nothing?

I just put the phone down on him. It hadn't sunk in until then we had just given them a false feeling of grandeur that we would constantly hear them deluded pigs go on about, UNTIL YESTERDAY.

We stood em on the table, pulled their pants down and smacked their pink little arses on their own patch in front of their own fans wearing their old kit in their old rusty stands.

In 4 sweet kicks we

• Made their bounce an embarrassing celibration
• Wiped that Boxing Day out
• Reclaimed Sheffield bragging rights big time
• Made Syd James embarasment to them
• Made 2 mascots hand in their notices

To all the blades going to work today please take every opportunity to rub their noses in it. Me, I can't wait until tonight's 1 hour special Football Heaven phone in.
