Considering the number of loan players we have now, roughly eleventy-eight, and we are still being linked with more, am I alone in thinking that we'll struggle even more for some team spirit and squad "togetherness"?

I am sure that loan players can and do play to the best of their ability, but do they have the team's best interests at heart, or do they simply want to use their time here to engineer better opportunities from their parent clubs or potential new clubs in the next transfer window?

Conversely are we simply getting the best possible players we can given our financial resources, and are we better signing short-term loans rather than long-term expensive mistakes, like Carney and Hendrie?

we took the piss out of wednesday the season we drew 2-2 at the lane for all their loan players. now look at us!

im split on this-the loanies we have at the present are not bad and if we would have had to buy them i very much doubt we could have afforderd them all (treacy, bunn, davies, walker, cresswell etc) so although i agree that there is maybe a worry about togetherness and spirit id rather go down the loan road rather than have 5+ players brought in on frees and nominal fees that quite frankly would proberbly be not very good, im not sure.this is my 1st post as a new member so forgive me if i talk b*ll*cks till i suss it out.

this loan thing is a load of bollox unless a reight to buy clause is in the deal.

the gud uns just fc uk off... remember Cahill?

yes thats right hes quality..going to arsenal in jan. halford was on loan all last season and did terrific in later stages of season, got us to wembly with header! blackwell wanted to sign him but couldnt afford him and wages,so its a catch 22 yeah??

cheers pal ill put it my tank!! r u going tomoro? i actually have faith in wot blackwell will do , donny r shite, be 4 nowt easy

Im not a fan of loans at all TBH. How can you plan long term when half your side is made up of loans.

It all smacks of short termism. And a club that is skint. Id rather we gave some of the youngsters in our academy a chance to shine than a 32 year old Journeyman.

but Cahill was never going to come to us, he was clealry a class above beforehand. The loan system allowed us to get 3 months of a top class footballer, that we had no other chance of getting.

Which of the kids do you think would have offered more than Halford last season, or Treacy this?

We're leaving ourselves with an awful lot of work to do in January... half our team will be gone.

blackwell had the temerity to come on p & g and clearly state 'i can only put five loan players in the squad at a time'.. dooohh didn't someone explain this to him before the end of the transfer period?
