interesting .. personally i thought it was the more experienced players.. Doyle, Kitson and Collins that seemed to be more affected by the crowdWhat Wilson was actually saying was it was the young players that were effected by the booing. There were some really young kids out there tonight and I can see how they would take it personally. I know there's all that 'If you're good enough you're old enough talk' but no-one goes on a football pitch and tries to play poorly!
Really there was boos? Fickle bastards!
Booing or Cheering. Makes no difference either way.
That reet ?
Ask the players. And this really is the issue.
The disconnect between the fans frustrations and the players having a difficult or bad day at the office.
If your partner was to serve you up a meal that turned out to be a bit poor for whatever reason, would you boo him / her ?
Would you expect your gaffer to loudly boo you if you made an error at work ?
Fans these days think that they have a divine right to boo or be otherwise negative on the back of "iv paid me money so I can do what I want".
Once again we are right in the mix where the prize of auto promotion is in sight and yet the lottery of the play offs is also a distinct possibility.
The fans CAN make a difference here.
Possibly, but I commented re Wilson's post game interview. Possibly he was meaning that the younger players take it to heart more. George Long certainly seemed to lose confidence after a few bad games, but has now got back to his best. I don't think the defence can be criticised too much. At the end of the day, they kept a clean sheet. They had more to do because we seemed to be on the back foot all the time. Had our midfield and attacking players played better, the defence wouldn't have had half as much to do.interesting .. personally i thought it was the more experienced players.. the reason everyone's computers have started working sitters is that it was a home game (we only win away) and everyone went and so could pass judgement .. simples..
i didn't boo. but i felt like it.
3-0 v Colchester, could have sworn that was played at the lane, difference being we got an early goal and the boo's therefore never came !interesting .. personally i thought it was the more experienced players.. Doyle, Kitson and Collins that seemed to be more affected by the crowd

Were there boos during the game or just at half and full time?
The general half/full time boo is normally just a message from the crowd that they're not happy with what they've just seen, and shouldn't affect individual players' confidence/performance too negatively.

I didn't boo & rarely do - but suggesting that this contributed to another abysmal performance is bonkers. The fans got behind the team but were then frustrated by the lack of urgency, quality & positive intent. It really was shocking and no surprise that it eventually resulted in some booing. Unfortunately, most of the home performances this season have been poor which has contributed to the fans' frustration.
We rarely come out of the blocks quickly under Wilson and it's something he needs to address.
So you are happy to sit back and watch all the hard work undone again and let another season slip by without voicing your opinion? If they play well then they get the applause and the pat on the back, if they play like they did last night they should get a kick up the arse, just like i would if i performed like that at work (for a lot less money). It is not good enough what these players are serving up and it shows how bad this league is if we are top.Frustrating night all round I know but on the back of 3 wins I think it's pathetic to boo them off the pitch, what will it achieve, precisely FUCK ALL !
Does that render you incapable of passing the ball to your own player, or even running into space, or looking slightly interested. Shall i go on?I had convinced myself we had turned the corner and then Forte, then Murphy gets injured. It takes time for a new player to bed in and both had started to play well and the team to gell. But last night we were back to square one. I dont think it was anyones fault in particular but they looked like a team that had not played together in those positions, which they hadn't. Poleon did his best but the team looked better when he went on the wing in the 2nd half.
How many times have we been able to field the same team in consecutive matches this season?
I was disappointed in him questioning the fans. It's a cold Tuesday night, there is a recession on and supporters have a right to expect better than what was on offer tonight.
If only football was that simple. Maybe Lawyers 4U should put an ad on the telly: "Have you been disappointed by a football match? You can claim compensation under the Human Rights Act."
The home crowd are a lot less patient than the away crowd. It takes approximately one pass that the majority think should have gone a different way for this to start getting edgy. It does in pockets away, it's just quieter due to numbers
We look nervous and hide more at home.
It's not an excuse, just an observation.
High horse time is it? You a bigger fan because you don't boo? I don't boo, never have but last night I had travelled 300 miles and got a ticket to watch that absolute shite. I think anyone paying money has the right to boo no matter where we are in the table. The performance was truly shocking. Back to front, player for player only Robson and Poleon seemed to try and make something happen. Long was faultless as well. KMac, of course is the darling boy so beyond reproach (see brown nosing thread elsewhere) but I expect players of his supposed quality to turn games, no matter if he is playing for Sheffield United or the Dog and Duck. Flynn was no worse than anyone else on the park but gets targetted for dogs abuse yet Kitson was god awful and no one really mentions it.
Boo if you like, you pay your money so you have the right. If they are shit someone has to let them know its unacceptable.
Disconnect between players and the fans eh? And its our fault because some of us boo? I've read some man seed in my time but that really does go towards the far end of ridiculous. You know what, when I fuck up at work I expect to be told. If 15,000 people paid to watch me work I would expect them to let me know as well. Players get paid more than most of us do to play a game that we pay to watch. Give it them large if you don't think they are giving 100%. Boo, call them shit, generally do what you like (within legal bounds). How else will they know its not good enough? This is football, not the National Ballet. Man up.
its indicative of the blame/sue culture society we all now inhabit. And its getting worse.
Think you have mis understood me.
It is the specific "act" of booing that I take issue with. Its frankly childish (IMHO).
Call McGuire a useless donkey.
Let Doyle know he couldn't pass wind.
Let Cresswell know that the knackers yard is that a way --------->
Just don't boo.
Don't expect any of this to make a flying F of a difference as its indicative of the blame/sue culture society we all now inhabit. And its getting worse.
I'm not gonna bother arguing about anything but in my honest opinion, the players deserved to be booed off, a performance like that from a 'top of the table' side is far from good enough. Professional footballers really should be able to cope with it and more importantly LEARN FROM IT! What don't they get by it? They were shite and they should realise they were shite and do something about it.
The fans CAN make a difference here.
that's because he scores a goal every now and then.. that said .. i agree with a lot of your postFlynn was no worse than anyone else on the park but gets targetted for dogs abuse yet Kitson was god awful and no one really mentions it.
