Bookies odds for Sheffield derby

For the first time in years I'd make them very slight favourites.

Siege mentality, chance to show massiveness to the watching billions around the world, confirmation the tide is turning and they're bigger than a really small club like us, chance to ejaculate (can I say that?) over a sell out crowd like no other club in the history of football could get.

But I'm of the spirit of Whitehouse and Bobby D and Brown so you never know we might just defy the odds.

Ive laid us for the amount I would have spent on tickets if I could have got any. Just above evens is good odds given the form we've been in and how close these games normally are

Most bookies have got us to win at 2-to-1 and Sheffield Wednesday to win at 3.7-to-1.

I find this quite interesting because last season when we were second in the league when we went to Hillsborough, us to win was 3-to-1 and Sheffield Wednesday to win was 2.5-to-1.

Considering how much worse we are this season I am shocked that the odds for us to win the derby have increased. Can anyone think why? Obviously Sheffield Wednesday are in a much worse state but form goes out the window for a derby match so i’m unsure why the bookies are favouriting us.

It's not the bookies making the odds. It's the punters' bets making the odds.
