Unpaid Bolton players could opt to leave, says Neil Lennon
Bolton manager Neil Lennon is worried that some players could choose to leave if they are not paid this month.

The club are £172.9m in debt and facing a winding-up petition from Revenue and Customs over £600,000 of unpaid taxes.

Players were not paid in November and can choose to terminate their contracts with two weeks' notice if the same happens this month.

"That is their right and at this time of year it's a huge concern if they're not getting paid," Lennon said.

"I remember being in Glasgow when it happened to Rangers and players used their right to leave Rangers and go and play in England.

"So that scenario is a realistic possibility and that would be another devastating blow.

"No-one's come forward to suggest that just yet, but time is of the essence and it's a really difficult time of year for everyone, including players."

'No real change' on takeover
Financial adviser Trevor Birch is understood to have spoken to four partiesinterested in taking over the club, but Lennon said there had been "no real change" in talks over the weekend.

"I know Trevor is working frantically in the background meeting with prospective investors but no-one's coming up with the money yet.

"It's such a short period of time for someone to come in and do the due diligence that I can understand people being a bit worried about putting the money in.

"If Trevor can buy a bit more time to get the process done properly I think that's what he's trying to do at the minute."

On-field troubles continue
Lennon questioned whether he should remain Trotters boss on Saturday, after defeat at promotion-chasing Hull City left his side three points adrift at the foot of the Championship.

The Trotters have won only one of their past 20 league games and would be deducted 12 points were the club to go into administration.

"It is a results-driven business at the end of the day, so one win in 20 is not great reading," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

Looks like some players may choose to leave Bolton at the end of the month. Any players we may want?

1 GK Ben Amos
3 DF Dean Moxey
4 DF Dorian Dervite
6 MF Josh Vela
7 MF Liam Feeney
8 MF Jay Spearing
10 FW Zach Clough
12 FW Max Clayton
13 GK Paul Rachubka
14 FW Gary Madine
15 DF Derik
16 MF Mark Davies
18 MF Neil Danns
19 FW Emile Heskey
20 DF Jose Manuel Casado
21 MF Darren Pratley (captain)
23 FW Stephen Dobbie
24 DF Francesco Pisano
25 DF Lawrie Wilson
26 FW Shola Ameobi
27 MF Filip Twardzik
31 DF David Wheater
42 MF Tom Walker
44 MF Medo
45 DF Rob Holding

Dobbie, Danns and Moxey

Realistically I think we'd only have a chance of getting Dobbie out of those three though

I remember David Wheater being highly rated a fair few years ago.

And would the no. 14 be worth a gamble?

If we are wanting some decent youngsters Clayton and Vela are worth looking at.

All of these would be worth looking at.

26 FW Shola Ameobi
31 DF David Wheater

Particularly good ones there are Clayton, Davies and Clough. Ameobi, Heskey and Wheater would add some real experience in this division too

That's a really shit squad to be honest. I would struggle to make a case for taking any of them with the exception of Zach Clough who looks quite a talent. Plus he scored 20 goals to help my Sheffield United team win promotion on FM 2015 so signing him in real life would satisfy me greatly.

All the decent ones will go championship clubs and I can see us being desperate and giving long contracts to crap like Stephen Dobbie. That's the only reason we got the likes of Basham and he's been outstanding hasn't he?

If we are needing a young defender then Derik is worth trying to sign but he may end up at another Championship club.

Liam Trotter. Not listed there, but he's on loan at Forest from Bolton where he's only getting on the bench. Most if not all of the others in the positions we'd want are either unrealistic or too old.

Surely there is no point looking at any of these players until we know how much we will have left to spend, once we have signed Dean Hammond permanently?

I knew my recent visit to Loftus Road to watch QPR V Bolton would come in handy.

Unfortunately, it's a little tricky to tell much about a team when all they do is launch the ball up to Gary Madine all game.

They brought on a loanee (Wellington da Silva) who seemed tricky (but hogged it). Wheater at the back looked slow and clumsy. Keeper made a couple of errors, but also some good saves, one in particular was outstanding. Overall, despite scoring 3, it was fairly obvious why they struggle going forward (I can't believe Madine is leading the line for a Championship club), but they were unlucky on the day not to get at least a draw.

QPR looked like a team of bullies. Moaning/stropping more than Jose and Collins when they were losing.

Wanting any of these players is one thing. Them actually dropping down to div 3 and our club being able to afford them is quite something else

If we manage to bring a player or two in, then I wouldn't bet against us dipping our hand into the bargain bucket basement for our next signing

I'd actually be interested in going for Wheater. I'm not sure what he's like now, but a couple of years ago he was exactly what we need at the back. Big, strong and no nonsense. He really shouldn't be past it at 28.

If I weren't so chuffed about George's form right now, I'd say Ben Amos.

Other than him, the promising young players (who'd be well out of our reach): Clough, Vela, Clayton.

And the classy Mark Davies: now that's the sort of player with a motor we're crying out for (but again, in his case, out of our league I fear).

Realistically I think we'd only have a chance of getting Dobbie out of those three though
Not if Nigel Clough gets in their first.

I was going to suggest him. I reckon he could do really well in this league.

Zach Clough will sign for another Championship club easily.

Errrrrrrrr, that squad has won 1 in 20. Why would we waste money on any of them? Ow, just a minute........

Seen him play a couple of times, his parent club is Arsenal. He was on loan at Almeria (excuse the spelling) in La Liga last season... They got relegated but whenever I saw him play he causes problems with his skills and pace.
