Unless something is sorted sharpish, it's not looking good for BWFC. The ever-worrying term 'deal in principle' is in there somewhere.

This can either create a siege mentality and strong togetherness amongst the players, or they'll jump ship, get sold or just go to shit.

I feel for clubs when this kind of thing happens, but I'm sick to death of being in this division and if a club getting dragged through the mud gifts us even the slightest advantage in the table, then so be it.

Plus I hate that shitty ground.

Thoughts on this?

Looks like posturing to me. Either Holdsworth does a deal or he loses his money. His choice.

Perhaps we could help them out by every Blade going to the cup match buying 10 programmes?

Will they get deducted points? Or could there be harsher implications?

Tough on any supporters when this happens / looks like happening. I pray we never get into this kind of mess. Say what you like about KM but I don't see us ever going down this road with him still involved.

Other than that; I have to agree that if this gives us some kind of advantage then so be it. They really shouldn't have spunked as much cash away as they did. Of course the supporters will suffer but my sympathy is in limited supply these days and yes the Macron is an abomination. Burnden Park by comparison was an absolute gem.

for anyone fancying going on Sunday, ticket office told me they'd sold about 800 out of 2,695 as at Friday lunchtime - they are on General Sale now

Why is their stadium so disliked? From a visual standpoint I much prefer it to the featureless bowls of Leicester, Soton and the like.

It might not be a bowl, but it's pretty damn ugly. It's in the middle of a retail park, and the retail park is in the middle of nowhere.

Pretty sure they let their home fans bring a drum into the ground, too. That instantly loses you points.

Both fair points.

But as an away fan, where would you rather watch a match? In a modern stadium with a great view or a rust bucket with posts like Hillsborough?

In fact I'd love us to knock down the Kop and replace it with a stand that had no posts, a decent view and leg room.

While from a purely selfish perspective a ten point penalty would be great, I don't really wish for any club to be in admin. Them having to sell a few players in January would, however, be fairly just.

Would rather have a centrally located ground with a bit of character and decent pubs, etc nearby. That shouldn't preclude decent facilities. See BDTBL, Forest, Norwich, etc.

It's in the middle of nowhere with no decent pubs, food or transport links. Leicester and Soton are much more central and better grounds for it.

Pubs, and food I'll grant you, but it's just off the motorway and right next to a train station with regular trains from Bolton.

Burnden Park probably had it's fair share of rust but is widely considered to be better than its modern counterpart by those who have visited both. Older grounds have character which the vast majority of new-build grounds fail to capture, and are usually a bit better located. The Hillsborough comparison is a tricky one because we're always going to slate it because of what it is, and also because it has an unfathomably ugly away end even if you take the red specs off.

Regarding the Kop, I'd love to see us start from scratch with it too, but it'd simply be too expensive. They'll just plonk a new cantilever roof and some new bogs in and call it a day.

Transport links? It's right next to the M61 with a train station within spitting distance. What more do you want? It's own international airport?

Certainly a fuck of a lot easier for blades fans to get to than Charlton was and that didn't stop 3000 making the journey.

I don't see the problem. For an away day at Bolton, you either get pissed up in central Bolton or Manchester and then get the train to the ground.

At the start of the season I was talking to a Bolton fan. He said the club was in a real mess, no money, selling off the training ground etc. and he couldn't believe that they were up there as one of the favorites for promotion.

Now whatever happens to Bolton I have a feeling that the tides of fortune are turning in our favour. Our patience in living memory of putting up with Hans Segers (1994), Tevez (2007), Leicester going into admin (2003), Ched's conviction (2012) will now start to be rewarded.

I hope to lose that 'glass half empty' mentality and look forward to our new management team take us to places that are beyond our wildest expectations.

It is a shit ground for the reasons TomJonesBlade said plus the fact that when we went nearly all the turnstiles were closed and we missed the kick off by 10 minutes. The stewards wanted to search every single Blades fan going in the ground until the coppers finally told them to quit pissing around.

Harsh for a club to go into administration but no doubt like many other clubs they will find a way around it.

the plan was ans still is to clear the mound as the floor space these days is very expensive , , being able to have stuff under a new stand is good commercial sense and modern building techniques its not the task it was

I wasn't being very specific. Seen the plans for commercial space and the like built into it. However, from a matchday/football fans' point of view, it will pretty much be a few extra rows at the back, a cantilever roof and some new bogs. Correct?
