Could this kid adapt his game and play a more advanced role??
We need a new Lunny?

I’d be furious if I was him - when he signed he can’t have expected to not even have a sniff of the bench. Especially when the results have been abysmal - so there’s less justification for not trying other options

Doesn’t sound like wilder has any intention of playing him anytime soon - so he may as well try and develop his game add some strings to his bow.... one of the few players in the squad who looks capable of beating a man.

Otherwise we may as well loan him in January - save some money on his wages

We needed a back up right back, but yeah...£10 million....or so, we could’ve got a decent midfielder for that

My view is that neither Bogle nor Lowe was seen as a here and now player but solid younger cover for George and Enda. Only the loss of O’Connell and Enda’s up and down season both with form and fitness has made Lowe a starter.

Serves the club right for it's obsession with reaching a certain level and then signing cover players.

They do it every time

I've said it on here constantly that every player coming in has to be an improvement on what we already have, otherwise don't bother signing them

£8 - £10 million is too much to chuck away on players that have no impact whatsoever and don't put even the slightest bit of pressure on the first eleven

we needed cover for Baldock who could potentially play if he got injured.

We didn't get proper cover for Jack and look what's happened.

The only puzzler is the fact he was after Cash, who would have started, at a guess. If he was trying to sign Cash and Robinson as back-up it's no surprise they went elsewhere (where they're both starting).

For me I love George but his attacking output and composure is woeful which looks to me from watching highlights that they are two areas Bogle excels in.

they were bought with one eye on a championship campaign next season imo

Another good game. Granted the opposition wasn’t a great standard but he doesn’t half get in some good positions going forward. Yet to be tested properly defensively I don’t think, but the way he gets forward on the ball and how he attacks space in the box off the ball reminds me of Kieron Freeman at his best in League One. Baldock’s been one of our better players this season, and has been great for us since signing, but is the shirt now Bogle’s to lose? We need a player like him if we’re going to score more and create more.

Why not play him as a right sided attacking midfield?

I just wonder if when Baldock is back fit whether Bogle could fill the Lundstram position, he gets into some great positions and when you look back to our goals form last season midfield contributed a goodly number and we are sadly missing those this year, he seems to have a good engine to play box to box. Be interesting to see how he develops

I’ve thought about it, and I think I’ve advocated for it on here in recent weeks, but the more I watch the more I’m not sure it’d suit him. He’s much better being the one over-lapping, or the one following in around the back. I don’t think his game suits the slightly more congested midfield area where the RCM, ideally, is the one unlocking the space and bringing in others. I’m not totally ruling it out, but I’d sooner keep him in the position where he’s played well for us. His attacking runs will help out massively whoever plays RCM.

He is talented so could maybe improve overall to fill that spot.
Unless we bring someone in I cannot see a better solution

He's got the shirt for me now, it should be motivation for George to win it back.

He doesn’t pass the ball well enough to play there imo. He’s at his best running at a man one on one out wide. The speed at which he can move his feet in tight spaces is a problem for whoever has to challenge him. To ask him to dictate a game from midfield where your range of passing and vision are more important than being able to beat a man would be unfair on him imo.

Last season our wing backs were in the top ten players in the league for touches in the final third (unsurprising, they often both found themselves in the center forward position).

That along with Kieran Freeman’s 11 goals in the 100 points season demonstrate just how crucial the wing backs are as attacking players in this set up.

Our wing backs on both sides need to be more like Bogle, Tariq Lamptey, Kieran Freeman, Max Aarons etc rather than the more well rounded (but less of threat in the box) wing backs like Baldock, Stevens, Luke Ayling, Daniel Lafferty, Ryan Bertrand and so on

It seems a pity that we have virtually just one position in the pitch, where there seems to be 2 great contenders.
In the situation we are in, Baldock needs to keep his spot, and get Bogle spliced in somewhere. RM or similar. When he's on, we have so much more attacking flair.

We’re relegated, we know that. I think we should sell Baldock as I reckon we could get a decent fee for him and give Bogle the shirt next season

Perhaps I am showing my age, but to me this position is the old inside right who would be expected to be running at defences.
Being able to pass especially through the defence is needed but the other two midfielders can do that job
5-2-1-1-1 ?

Has to play for me. Nothing against George but attacking quality and composure is what we need right now down the right and Bogle has shown plenty of this

Bogle’s shown his quality in the 3 games he’s played.
Great prospect, has real composure on the ball and going forward, in a key key position for us.

Obviously has to play for me.
If there’s been a player all season who has taken his (extremely limited) opportunities it’s Bogle.

It depends it could be played that way but probably not with the other two midfielders we have right now who look immobile and who are themselves struggling to move the ball effectively. If you wanted to push bogle further forward it would have to be as part of a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

What a waste of money, someone we definitely didn’t need to sign
