CONFIRMED Bogle

I'm not completely surprised that we've gone for Jayden Bogle, it seemed logical once the numbers on Matty Cash stopped making sense.

If we're really getting him and Lowe for less than £10m then that's a great bit of business.

Bogle is very attack-minded, he's rapid and can go past players. In our system, with the added defensive protection, he could really thrive.
He's not as strong physically as George Baldock & defensively isn't going to be as competent in those one on one situations (you forget how comfortably Baldock pocketed guys like Zaha last season), but he's at a great age to learn and improve.

These are the signings I really want us to make more of. Great age, strong potential, speed, athleticism and instantly upgrade our squad. Hope it goes through.
Nail. Head.

Cant be worse than the last fullback we signed from DCFC 😂😄

This is what The Athletic write about him in July.

Right-back seems set, unless Jayden Bogle is offloaded. It’s believed Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan were after the 19-year-old and Derby may have to fight to keep him this summer.

Interesting - wonder why that interest hasn’t materialised this summer as it seems (from the outside at least) that we’ve had a clear run at him?

Bogle needs a lot of work defensively, but he's good competition for Baldock, with the potential to take over from him.
Lowe, again, isn't that great defensively. Will need a lot of work. Can't see him being good enough to take over from Enda but you never know. Certainly better signings than some have suggested.
I love high quality young talent, can't have tpp too much of it. However, that's for next season or the season after. IMHO we need proven PL talent for this season! Hopefully remaining signings can help us NOW

I don't think Bogle is as quick as people think. I would put him on par with C.Robinson pace wise.

This double transfer for the 2 wing backs reminds me of when we sold Walker/Naughton to Spurs years back but obviously in our favour.

I think we have robbed Derby.

I'm sure we've sweeten the deal by throwing in a friendly and first dibs on loaning our best youngsters 🤣

Take a look at how many players we are down from last season not rocket science.

I wrote this on another thread, but it's worth putting up again.

If we are going on number of players that have left vs. number of players that have come in, then, "yes", we are weaker... but other than Henderson, we haven't lost a first team player. Certainly not a regular starter.

PL apps per player:
Henderson - 38 (0) - Replaced by Ramsdale (maybe not as good currently, but England u/21 No.1 GK)
L. Freeman - 3 (8)
Besic - 2 (7)
Eastwood - 0
K. Freeman - 0 (2) - Replaced by Bogle (stronger)
Zivkovic - 0 (5)
Morrison - 0 (1)
Duffy - 0
Heneghan - 0
Clarke - 0 (2)
Holmes - 0
Thomas - 0
Retsos - 0

Only players that have left us to start any games are Henderson, Mo Besic & Luke Freeman. We've replaced Henderson.

If Lowe comes in we have a player who plays LB better than Robinson and Osborn (stronger).

Looks like we're bringing Burke in as a squad player who can play midfield, upfront, off the striker or even right back. He is a better option off the bench than Zivkovic, Morrison, Clarke, Holmes, Thomas or Kieron Freeman (stronger).

We need a good solid CM to replace Luke Freeman and Besic in addition to a new striker. For arguments sake, Swift and Dennis (only rumours).

Our first XI is solid, it's our backup players that weren't good enough last season and we have improved the backup players in all areas of the pitch, that's without mentioning Foderingham (stronger) over Verrips and Moore.

Mail (I refuse to link) reckons the deals for both Bogle and Lowe are done.

Announcement video incoming...
The video announcement team have got their work cut out here. 2 young full backs from Derby. I predict a CGI enhanced 2 minute anime of an old and clearly agitated Ram, before its stomach is ripped open from within and Lowe and Bogle emerge in derby shirts both holding the 2 swords each each from our badge. They symbolically smear red blood stripes down the white shirts and the 2 afforementioned swords then shrink and fuse themselves to the shirts forming the Blades badge.

Wilder then smashes a bottle of Peroni on each of their heads and they all walk off into the sunset laughing.

Possibly to a Donk remix of the Pokemon theme tune.

I‘m hoping for some sort of situational comedy scene where the digital team are workshopping ideas for the video, someone doesn’t get it, they’re told “we’re signing Rams”, and the confused response is “but we’ve already announced his signing in the last video”. The team leader, cigar in mouth, bleats out “I said Rams, not Rammers you fool!”, at which point Aaron Ramsdale by coincidence walks past the open door to the room and just makes out the last three words, before walking away gloomily.

I think we have robbed Derby.

Yes, we could have - but we've seen an opportunity with Derby being short of cash.

This recent loan from a company called MSD is potentially dodgy according to some media outlets - they are not on a list of registered money lenders that can loan to more than one football club - they've already loaned to Sunderland.

The writing is on the wall with Derby - they looked poor in our friendly - could be relegated this season.

For those that dont know much about Bogle (are you living under a rock) decent analysis of him with heatmaps and all that lovely nerdy stuff here https://totalfootballanalysis.com/article/jayden-bogle-2019-20-scout-report. I dont think hes as developed as Cash right now, but I do think he has a higher ceiling and for the money touted I'm much happier getting him in than id have been for spending 16m on Cash.

Think Cash is going to regret moving to Villa its such a bad tactical fit for him there, whereas we are a great fit for Bogle
