Strange signings from CW. Both Derby lads will be ones for the future, but he’s not addressed what we need now. We’re absolutely horrendous up top and we’ve probably weakened due to the fact Freeman’s gone out on loan and C. Robinson’s getting on his bike. Essentially signed squad players we don’t need, Osborne can play L/RWB if it was needed.
We don't need backup wingbacks to push Enda and Baldock?

They are not strange signings. We rely immensely on our wing backs to offer attacking impetus and should one of the two get a long term injury we would be in shit. 2 young attackijg full backs to push/ cover / replace Baldy and Enda are a must

He’s addressing it. There’s another 2/5 he stated coming in

Quality players at knock down prices don't grow on trees. If you think these are strange signings then I'm glad you're a million miles away from our recruitment. And who says we've finished recruiting?

But we absolutely do need decent young squad player's. We are very light on numbers.

We also need better first team players for the midfield / forward line, but they tend to cost a lot of money, so CW will be trying to get what he can with the limited budget he has available. As we don't have an unlimited budget, he can only do so much each window. We can't do what Chelsea are doing.

I see the two young wing backs from Derby as being excellent signings, each with a bucket load of potential. Excellent bit of business by the Blades again imo.

Yeah, I know we need competition since Enda’s been very hit and miss of recent. An actual goal scorer is a lot more important at the minute, we’ve got nothing. Moose isn’t looking promising. It’s alright McGoldrick putting a shift in but he barely scores. Sharp’s not all that in the PL and with McGoldrick the wrong side of 30.

It is great business, they’re young and have potential, but at the minute I feel there’s bigger fish to fry. I guarantee, during the first 10 PL games, they don’t get a sniff. We do need squad players, we’re really light on numbers but we needed to be looking at forwards first.

So do you reckon we should bin these 2 lads off for the time being then until we sign a striker... then go back to try and sign them again?

Why the obsession with signing players in order of importance? If I go to Tesco for a roast chicken and pass a good offer on wine in the way in, I get the wine first, then go to the chicken. It isn't a case of one or the other.

When you’ve got a small budget and go to Tesco for a roast chicken, don’t go for the cheap offer on the wine, because the roast chicken soon becomes a bag of quavers.

If I couldnt afford the wine, I'd not pick it up, it's a good accompaniment but not a necessity. I'm sure Wilder isn't buying the wine and neglecting the main course.

Got to be done! Like the look of him and still only 20.

Looks very skillful and pacy so should be really good competition for George.
The comparisons to Cash are interesting in that Bogle is 3 years younger and played at international levels from age 16 and a quarter of the price !

I spoke to Derby supporting friend of mine about Bogle. He said”Why have you got in touch with me, I haven’t see or heard from you in over 5 years plus you still owe me money from that loan I gave you to buy a car which you spent on a holiday. And didn’t you try chatting my Mrs up when I was out fetching some food the last time you came round. You can fuck right off!!!” He’s blocked my number now. 😒😒
was his Mrs worth chatting up ?

Anyway, Bogle, what a signing he'll be. Thought we might have fancied him last summer actually, but also thought he'd be far too expensive.

Wilder and Knill needing statues when we finish higher than 9th this season...

In 2019/20 the bottom 5 teams conceded more goals than any team above them. Also last year 6 other teams, including us, scored less goals than teams in the bottom 5. It is very clear how you stay at this level. Mr Wilder has a limited budget and has to date acquired 2 goalkeepers with 2 wingbacks and a CB soon to arrive.

He clearly knows that our best chance of consolidating our position in this league is to stick to our knitting - as business people say. There is a time for business innovation - just not yet.

Magic Days Still to Come

I'm not completely surprised that we've gone for Jayden Bogle, it seemed logical once the numbers on Matty Cash stopped making sense.

If we're really getting him and Lowe for less than £10m then that's a great bit of business.

Bogle is very attack-minded, he's rapid and can go past players. In our system, with the added defensive protection, he could really thrive.
He's not as strong physically as George Baldock & defensively isn't going to be as competent in those one on one situations (you forget how comfortably Baldock pocketed guys like Zaha last season), but he's at a great age to learn and improve.

These are the signings I really want us to make more of. Great age, strong potential, speed, athleticism and instantly upgrade our squad. Hope it goes through.

If Chris is buying Bogle form Tesco, can he use up Knilly's Clubcard points to include Lowe in the deal?

Anyway, back to Finding Bigfoot.

UTB

I can't remember us ever doing a double-signing from one club like this. Anyone else...?
