Bogle/Brewster/Mcburnie

Since we seem to have finally settled on a formation and got a couple more creative players in the side (mgw + ndiaye), only one player has started upfront (Billy). Mcburnie did in the cup v Soton and played decent, plus scored (in a largely second string team).
Brewster is struggling for confidence and being asked to play out of position when he does play.

How do we know Mcburnie or Brewster aren't the answer if they're not getting a decent run in the team?

Billy has been a great servant but he needs to be used as a bit part player moving forward. Bring him on from the bench as an extra threat to give defenders something to worry about or when we know we'll dominate games and pin them in. Playing him on his own upfront is too often like playing with 10 men. Yes he'll score a goal every 3 or 4 games, but is that good enough? His all round play isn't upto it. Let's face it, he was dreadful tonight. If Oli or RB put that performance in, Lord help them.

Let's not forget the only serious game time Oli has gotten was in an awful team on the way down, devoid of any creativity or belief and similar with Brewster.
Write them off when they've had a fair crack in a productive team.

This isn't me saying they WILL be the answer, but how will we find out until they're given a chance?

Maybe we should actually play them

However mental that may sound
They need to play if they are to develop as part of the tea. Both scored lots of goals at Swansea but need to play in a system that suits them. We have no height up front and McB is an asset in defence at corners etc. Brewster is improving his link up play but is not a winger. They could not be worse than Sharp tonight, again

Jeez mate. Judging by your post history you’re either McBurnie or his agent. Please stop it, it’s boring and predictable. Whining on about what an unappreciated genius you/he is fools no-one. Whichever you are, do us all a favour and find a mug who is prepared to pay 50% of what you/he cost us and I’m sure it will be a done deal with you/him gone with our blessing.

Couldn’t care less who it was as long as they improved the team and helped us build for the future as promotion is looking unlikely

Couldn’t agree more

The problem is this the only players we have who are averaging more than 7/10 performances currently are MGW and N'Diaye.
They are our best players but offer nothing defensively. Egan/Osborn/Sharp/Davies have shown flashes but are only managing to average low 6/10. We can probably live with Baldock and Olsen.
The rest are not good enough.
This squad is MILES away from being good enough to get us any higher in the league.
I am tempted to agree and think why not give Brewster; McBurnie and Bogle the 10 games of starts he has given RND/ES, Baldock and Sharp. Can they do much worse?

What are you on about, Brewster has been worse than sharp last night in nearly every game he has played for us so far.

Sharp played ok he held the ball up well, put effort in and got in the right positions but boro defended very well, most importantly he didn't hide or sulk

The problem is he's playing his 3rd game in a week because the manager, like the 2 other managers before him, has realised mcburnie and brewster aren't up to it

We need to find Sharp's long term replacement in January, brewster and mcburnie are not the answer

Osborne is a trier but he is a LB

Would genuinely rather play Didz/Brewster/Burke if its a position out wide of a 3
Did you see Brewster against Hull? I'd like someone to explain to me what he was doing during that game as it didn't look like anything remotely resembling what we needed.

If you can get us £50m for these 3 then you need to be a football agent yourself. They’re worth about £5m combined at the moment.
They aren't worth £50mil. Realistically on current form, McBurnie & Brewster are probably only worth £10mil each and Bogle maybe £8mil

Was definitely proving a point to those two jokers on the bench last night.

Get on the phone to your agent first thing and get yourself out on loan/permanent in January

£50 million pounds worth of players rotting on the bench not only a waste of money on our behalf but ruined 2 years of the lads development & careers

£45m worth of players who are sat on the bench, not lifting a leg between them and picking up a big fat wage.

If you throw Glass back Mousset in to the mix then you have got £55m worth of firepower there who have amassed more arrests than league goals between them since the last of last season.

He was playing out of position, like he has in every game this season

He looked like a player playing out of position completely out of position devoid of any confidence who has had no run of games at all

However he looked decent enough to warrant a run of games , people expect him to be a £25 million player its not Brewster's fault we paid that.

We spent that on his future potential , potential that we will never see without a run of games

So there refusing to play then ?

They're fuckin' useless. If the manager saw salvation in the effort, commitment and skill of McB and Brewster everyday in training, they'd be playing. I think they must stink the place out at the training ground, same as they do when they actually play....

It's catch 22 with him, he's crap when he plays but then people say he needs a run of games. If he just played well he'd get games.

Sharp played ok he held the ball up well, put effort in and got in the right positions
In no way, shape or form did Sharp hold the ball up well at all last night pal. It was bouncing off him (see their second goal).
He did the falling to the floor when defender is behind him thing (where to be fair, he usually gets free kicks), the ref wasn't buying it though.

He didn't play okay last night at all, I'm sure he'd be the first to admit that.
He looked slow mentally and physically (no doubt he's drained).

Obviously you'll have had a few when watching, remember in the first half when Sharp was played in on the left and hit that god awful pea roller?
If any other of our strikers hit that shot, they'd be ridiculed.

I love Billy for what he's given our club and what he's achieved over the years, but we need to use him as a bit-part player.
He isn't our future. Players who could potentially be that, aren't getting a chance.

... and when they do play, they're hardly chomping at the bit and turning in big performances. MGW and Ndiaye did exactly that as soon as they got in and although their standards have dropped in terms of their output with the ball, they're still working their bollocks off trying. I've literally never seen Brewster do that. McBurnie? Maybe 20% of the time puts a good shift in, tops.

When they play all they do is add to the growing body of evidence that they're either not arsed and / or not good enough.
You could add Jebbison to that list too. He troubled Everton with his pace, power and running. I would rather have kept him and sent Brewster or mcburnie out on loan if I had a choice.
