Since we seem to have finally settled on a formation and got a couple more creative players in the side (mgw + ndiaye), only one player has started upfront (Billy). Mcburnie did in the cup v Soton and played decent, plus scored (in a largely second string team).
Brewster is struggling for confidence and being asked to play out of position when he does play.
How do we know Mcburnie or Brewster aren't the answer if they're not getting a decent run in the team?
Billy has been a great servant but he needs to be used as a bit part player moving forward. Bring him on from the bench as an extra threat to give defenders something to worry about or when we know we'll dominate games and pin them in. Playing him on his own upfront is too often like playing with 10 men. Yes he'll score a goal every 3 or 4 games, but is that good enough? His all round play isn't upto it. Let's face it, he was dreadful tonight. If Oli or RB put that performance in, Lord help them.
Let's not forget the only serious game time Oli has gotten was in an awful team on the way down, devoid of any creativity or belief and similar with Brewster.
Write them off when they've had a fair crack in a productive team.
This isn't me saying they WILL be the answer, but how will we find out until they're given a chance?
