Bogle and Lowe

Let’s not write Lowe off yet. Some players take longer than others to get going.

Bogle is looking superb, mind you.

23 years old and played 464 minutes of PL football. Definitely too early.

It's also too early to write Baldock off who, for me, was one of a very small group who could be satisfied with his performances in the first 15 games or so of the season.

I think we've now got 2 fantastic options at RB (although I can't see us holding on to George if we go down)

Is it their time? Bogle is ready and RWB is his position. Baldock was poor I thought before getting injured and I am a fan of Baldock but right now Bogle is better. Lowe seems decent going forward but suspect defensively. But he made some good runs when he came on and has pace. Enda's been off the boil all season. Ampadu is also growing every game but is unavailable Sunday.
I agree baldock was poor. First though is to go back and look for bash or turn back and pass inside.

Bogles one of those players you would hate to coach. A bit of a free spirit. Just pops up any part of the pitch he feels like... Maybe why taken him so long to get a look in, but definitely something we needed.
George also wanders all over the pitch, there was an instance last night when in the first half they exchanged short passes on the left of WBA penalty area.

Burke too. Even in his short cameos at the beginning of the season it was clear he could give us an added dimension. Even if you don't subscribe to him being a good footballer (I think he's a quality player waiting to happen) then you must have been able to see that his pace & strength was worrying teams? But we persisted with lumping it up to McBurnie.

I keep thinking of the Baggie fan who said that Burke looked like a toddler chasing a balloon. Last night he killed a long punt stone dead and I wondered if he really did think it was a balloon and he was trying to stamp on it and burst it 🙂

I'm not a fan of Lowe but I did enjoy him skinning his opponent and racing into the area last night. I suppose he could improve his defending with coaching, but at the minute he would be 3rd or 4th choice for me.

Bogle will be first choice RWB from now on I'd imagine. Derby fans were raving about him in his breakthrough season which was the season we got promoted. In regards to Lowe, i think we need to cut him some slack. He may not be good enough to play every week but he was brought in, I would imagine, primarily for cover. He's young and with time to improve. Not so sure what will happen next season though with RND coming in.

It has been said that the coaching staff eventually see RND as a LCB, only 5 11” but a good spring on him but for now he is a LWB, which is an area where we are well served with.
Stevens
Osborn
Bryan
Lowe ?
RND

Most more than capable of playing and doing a good job if we are to be relegated.

If this were to be the case I can see Stevens and Osborn being moved on, and would like to see Bryan retained as cover for LWB and LCB with Lowe and RND fighting for the spot and a new player brought in to either cover or replace JOC dependent upon his desire to move on.
Goes without saying that Robinson will also be moved on.

Must admit still not convinced of Lowe and could not see why he was brought in, unless it was a case of you buy one you get one free?

I don't want to be too negative, but I was calling for Bogle to be put in the side all season to give us something different. It was clear we had to sacrifice a bit of our defence (Baldock is the better defender) in order to be more creative going forwards.

Wilder never even put him on the bench. What an earth was going on?

The bench isn't big enough to fit a sub for each position. Basham can cover RWB and Baldock had never been injured for us. It makes perfect sense.

And surely you're not suggesting we have looked defensively solid enough this season to sacrifice one of our better players to give a young lad a go?

After last night I have married Bogle, okay our lass will go spare but hey ho he is turning out to be an astute purchase, Lowe needs the chances can't expect him to just drop in he'll come good.

Bogle and Lowe, sounds like a middling cop drama on Alibi.

Bogle is looking like a player, I'm struggling with Lowe I'm afraid. The deal strikes me a bit like when you pull a stunner, but she doesn't want to leave her plainer mate on her own.

That's exactly what I'm suggesting. We play with three centre halves. There's a lot of protection back there.

Defensively our record is middle-of-the-road for a table in the bottom half.
Offensively, our goals scored is the worst in the league. By a long chalk.

A trade off was necessary.

But Bogle wasn't guaranteed to supply anything going forward. Clearly, with hindsight, you are right.

Baldock has been one of our better players this season, so saying 'what on earth was he thinking' is a bit much surely. He was thinking the same thing as most fans, lots of people wanted him starting in midfield ffs!

I think Baldock and Bogle on the right side would be a big advantage

I’ll say this quietly, but If and when we do succumb to relegation. The positives for the development of players like Bogle, Lowe and also Brewster, Burke and yes Ramsdale would be immense.

said same i really think bogle could play the rcm role but think the ideal formation for him and baldock would be 442 but very much doubt chris will be playing this system any time soon

he does now but he might not in the championship big difference in quality between the 2 leagues nowadays
I agree, even though Enda will look a better player in the Championship. I feel we need to develop our younger players for a potential return to the Premier League. If Lowe got a full season in the second tier I feel he could be up there with Bogle.

know this goes against general opinion on here but i still think enda could play the lcb role especially in the championship where the standard is poorer

I personally think bogle is a better player ( in our system anyway ) than cash and its a shame for him we've been so poor
