Neither of these players are Right or Left backs. They both got beat numerous times by Mitoma and Adingra letting Brighton get crosses in at will.

It took Wilder 63 minutes to drop Osbourne into left back and Bogle was never given any cover. Poor selection and planning.

Poor selection? all our other right and left backs are injured. 🤦‍♂️

For me it is was just a glaring insight into how bad our defence is

  • No leadership at the back to organise and get any semblance of working as an unit. Next season need someone over 6ft 3 and someone with a voice to marshal everyone as a bare minimum
  • Larouci when not getting skinned kept dropping a good metre behind everyone playing them all onside. How was he at Anfield?
  • Both fullbacks came up against very good wingers, but proved they are not defenders.
  • Holgate - Don't need to say anything more than has been said.

Leeds have proved this season you can completely revamp your defence and mount a challenge in the championship. My concenr is our recruitment has been utter shite, and wouldn't improve what we have already!

Please explain which right and or left backs we had available to play instead?

FA Cup Semi final last season - everytime Grealish got the ball Baldock & Berge doubled up to nullify the threat. Heckyball.

Yesterday Bogle was left exposed every time. Wilderball.

Having said that Mitoma sold the same dummy to Bogle throughout the game and Bogle should have had a bit more in his locker to deal with it.

Maybe they are right/left backs but the opposition are too good for them? And maybe Osborne isn't good enough to stand up to them either?

We lost that game 3-0 anyway, but I'd say the major point is that Baldock is just a far better defender than any of our other options there. He held up to Grealish very well for most of the game this season.

I don’t think playing Osborn and Larouci works. It’s one or the other for me.

And as willing a runner Osborn is, when we went down to 10, Osborn isn’t going to be able to fill in as a striker.

Bogle was as poor yesterday as I’ve seen him. He looked disinterested. The 5th goal, their player ran past him to score a tap in.

But as poor as we were down the flanks, they weren’t the reason we lost.

Wilder needs to bring in more expertise on the coaching side. Because what we’re doing isn’t working

Larouci has improved slightly too. That's how woeful he was to start with. He literally looked like a kid not knowing anything about positioning

We have no other option for right backs or left backs other than youth. Maybe Osborne for Larouci but he's not a premier League wing back either.

4-4-2 would help our full backs a lot if we could get a four in midfield that would actually provide some wide cover and tracking back/doubling up. We probably dont have the personnel to do that. We also dont have the personnel to play a 5 at the back successfully either.

I’d stick trusty left back, Larouchi cannot defend, has no defensive awareness or positional sense. I don’t care if he does the odd decent run forward he’s on the pitch to defend and he cannot do it.

Not really convinced he has much output going forward either. He's Burke the defending version

This, 5 at the back = space in midfield and we get picked off. Nonsensical formation with the players we have available.

Any formation with wingers makes me think of quality wingers we’ve had over the years like Littlejohn, Yeates, Cotterill and Burke.

Wing back formations evoke memories of Borbokis, W Quinn, Stevens, K Freeman.

I’m sure we’ve had successful 4-4-2 formations over the last 30 years but I remember the better times with wing backs.

Bogle is so bad at stopping crosses. He is an absolute master of the half-hearted challenge. He’ll never get sent off like Holgate did because he never commits to a challenge enough.

This is how bad it is; I’d actually consider our best fit defence to be:
RB - Osborn CB- Anel /Robbo LB - Trusty

That would be a left sided midfielder at right back, an inconsistent left centre back at left back, a guy who is massively underperforming bs last year and another who has already scored two own goals this year!

Ideally Osborn I’d have on the left, but as highlighted, defensively, we have no alternative to Bogle at all right now unless we decide to throw the young Irish lad into the fire.

Bogle is to be quote another thread - as thick as a Welshman's cock

Anel - plays like he's been told not to get injured

Robbo - turned back to C3PO

Laroucci/Lowe/RND - play like they won a competition in the Programme to play a game for Sheff Utd

We don't stand a chance!!!
