A few observations from the stats

- Burrows had most key passes (4) , most crosses (8), and most accurate crosses, as well as most interceptions. Attacking wise certainly an impressive game, Gilchrist had next most key passes (3) perhaps suggesting he is growing into his attacking RB role?

- as other have said, Vini was key with joint most aerial duels won (level with Soutar) and most successful tackles.

- Arb and O’Hare continue to have excellent pass completion stats for their positions (93.5% and 92.6%) whilst both centre halves are also over 90%.

- in attack we are little more hit and miss. Hamer had twice as many shots as anyone else (6) but otherwise all the attacking stats are below where we need them to be if we are to be in contention.

can't decide what was funnier - O'Hare and Souza's post game interview

Is there footage of this anywhere?

Loved it yesterday Souzza reminded me of Booker in terms of commitment and was everywhere.

Anel picked up as well.

Special mention to Peck, some Charlie Hartield esque "go on and cause some Bollocks" about that cameo.

Moore - spend the next two weeks practicing finishing and also needs to improve in the air, given we have no other strikers we just need to work on improving.

Brewster - again entered the field like a competition winner, sure it will come though he's a nice lad, was having a good chuckle with Jebbo probably about all earnings they've made off us while been injured.

Good to seen Maurice Maurice yesterday.

my only dampner was the kids werent here due to their mothers poor holiday timing.

Good report, I don't agree with all the markings, but a lot of this (everyone's view of the game) depends on where you are sitting in the ground. It was like an old fashioned Sheffield United game, with quite a bit of passion and commitment from the players and the crowd.

If the penalty had gone in, it would have been game over. As it was, we had to keep focussed and fighting to the final whistle, and we did it.

UTB.

McCullum came on in an odd position and I couldn’t work out who on that side was supposed to be further forward. In terms of performance, other than one or two dodgy swings, he actually pushed us further up, made half a dozen interceptions (despite not much time on pitch) and was a live wire who got us going again. Similar to Shackleton actually.

I’d actually say Sam had a great game given his limited time…. 7.5+
I thought the same. I thought Burrows would be pushed further up the pitch but it seemed that McCullum was playing left midfield.

Great to see that our new full backs seem to be settling in and adding to our attacking threat. Given the changes both in personnel and formation it was always going to take time to click. .

Was very impressed with Burrows yesterday. Some very good interceptions, particularly first half that allowed us to play on the front foot. And the back post header when they had a man waiting behind him to score was very good defending.

Personally I think Moore is a good watch and a clever player.

Good report as always.
The match demonstrated why United won't go up - lack of threat up front. Very decent midfield, if they stay fit, but we are very weak up front and don't have the kind of firepower the midfield really needs/deserves.
Still seems remarkable we didn't get a another striker in on loan at least.

It may be a good idea to close down the supply line on that side, putting on McCallum in front of Burrows (they seemed to swap positions a bit). If that is successful we can make the opposition's play more predictable and see out games more effectively.

This passing map shows Watford only making three or four passes down that left channel after McCallum came on:

I find hamer so frustrating
Never in my Sheffield United supporting life have I seen a player needlessly give the ball away or carelessly give away free kicks as much as he does

I'm sure it will click for him and these things will come off but even nick Montgomery used to Complete passes with more regularity than gus
That was very evident at Preston , giving the ball away, and his challenges were very salty on Sunday. In his favour he’s very committed and gives his all to the cause . He’s an exciting player

Yeah I don't want to sound like I'm down on him but in almost every game I've seen him in he is so reckless in challenges and careless in possession I'm just hoping it clicks and starts coming off as at the moment he is just disrupting our rythmn and gifting possession
