Guy called BLUT Blades on Twitter nails it:

Spot on, spot on...

Hope it goes really well mate. I really do applaud your efforts. Whatever happens, you’ll be able to say “I tried”. I’ll be joining in, albeit from a different location, in between taking sips of oxtail soup from my thermos flask.

There's only been positivity and support for the idea generally. How many numbers moving to the BLUT that translates to remains to be seen.

Tomorrow's game isn't ideal with the kick off time but I'm expecting between 50 and 100, which is enough to make a start.

I'm confident it will be over 100 for Bolton, and then it will hopefully grow from there.

It won't take huge numbers to make a big difference so I encourage anyone interested to make the effort. It could be really worthwhile long term.

You’re quite right. I probably mention them too often but it doesn’t take thousands to make a hell of a difference at Palace, does it? Shows what can be done.

That is very cleverly unpunctuated...

Do we have a self-serving imaginary friend type situation here? Not that I mind, in the circumstances.

An terrible error, luckily missed by I should coco, due to the excitement of the new positive relationship I have with Ricky. I give him genuine praise for his efforts, and in return, he "likes" those comments. Both winners!

I'm hopeful we'll make a decent start. Tonight's not the be all and end all anyway, so I'm quite relaxed. Ultimately as long as we improve the noise levels at that end of the ground it will have been worthwhile, and we'll have something to build on.

The Bolton game could be the one where it really takes off. Would be a good end to the year. There's no reason we can't get good numbers up there for that one.

We’ve crossed swords in the past, but I’ve warmed to him, for good reason I think.

I ❤️ Ricky.

As long as you're somewhere on the BLUT you can move up here.

Is it possible to get up there from the Westfield corner?

Yes. You'll be able to move over. The 3rd and 4th rows from the back have plenty of space available.

Oh well. Onto Bolton!

I've been up there for the past few games but sit near the front. Enjoyed the atmosphere in the second half. Well done Ricky.

Yeah it was better than where we originally sat in the Westfield for the 1st half, I just had a 10 year old and more importantly a 63 year old to convince to move up there. We have moved from sitting on the half way line on the South Stand so you can imagine my old mans thoughts on it, but he did get stuck in 2nd half.

I might be missing something

Is anyone else in this thread on the BLUT?! No atmosphere whatsoever and the longest beer queue I've ever seen. The only noise in the ground has come from the KOP

That queue was ridiculous but they did only have one guy serving. Not sure why, surely they know how many tickets they've sold

Was up there, think that some were expecting more to show (was a couple behind me saying "well you read the thread the same as me"), it has potential if numbers increase and there's more than one or two willing to start a chant themselves rather than echo the Kop or occasionally the South stand. Was a fair bit of noise particularly after it went 1-1

I'll never be anything but honest...

That wasn't as good as I wanted it to be.

BUT, we did improve the atmosphere up there and there is something to build on. The potential is obvious.

Just another 20 up there would've made a huge difference.

People need to realise what a difference they can make. And actually gather in the same area - at the back, between seats 104-125.

Thanks to everyone who made the effort. It's much appreciated. Make sure you come back for the Bolton game because it can and will only get better.

Shame about the result. Fucking ridiculous that we lost that game.

Ricky.

What did you improve. The Blades that want to sing in the Westfield Corner like myself and a few around me did so last night, It was no different to any other game played at Bramall Lane this season. I think i counted 12 in and around the singers from the kop that tried to create an atmosphere up there. unfortunately there was to few to influence anything. Hats off for trying though.

On the other two occasions I've been in the BLUT this season it was quieter than last night. I thought we contributed to it quite a bit, mainly from picking up Kop chants. There were plenty more than 12 but as I said on the other thread, not enough gathered in the same area and we were scattered too far apart, which needlessly lessened our impact.

It's the most I've sang at a home match but we do normally sit in the middle of the South Stand. Pretty sure we were in the target area for the 2nd half but stayed a bit further forward due to having a young in with us. Maybe if someone has a big flag which could be pinned to the back of the stand where you want people to congregate. Just a thought. Was decent I though even if it was fucking Baltic up there.

Good idea.

Any flag would do as well.

Not read the full thread but sat in the hospital corner it was a noticeable difference on blut last night. Keep at it lads, second half was great. Will only get better.

I'm at the front of the BLUT and the atmosphere was better last night, plenty around us joining in. Well done Ricky, keep it up.
