So this is now the next home game.

Would like to start seeing some movement on ticket sales this week.

If not then I hope the seats in the target area are still available come the week of the game. There are no guarantees.
I've swapped tickets to that area so see you there

Good, you near the back?
Think about 3/4 of the way up. We moved as we're taking a 10 year old to his first match. Then remember theis thread. I seem to remember when getting the ticket, ticket office said it was quite full, but I did ask for 3 in a row

If your seats aren't that far towards the back and you want to be in among what will hopefully be the noisy area at the back, you could just move up there anyway after kick off - there'll be plenty of spare seats to move into.

That goes for anyone else who might get tickets away from the back few rows of Gangway E, and also those who have season tickets on the Westfield Corner.

Will definitely move to the area if the plan comes off !!

I'm just praying this doesn't disrupt my mid-game pie and bovril.

I like to watch the game in silence with no distractions. Thanks.

Personally I think this is great!
Really hope it works out for everyone who does it.

Play your part in ensuring that it does come off! That goes for everybody interested in this.

Nothing to lose - it's only me who'll look like a mug if it fails!

SYPD and the SAG are only trying to make it safe for everybody. That's why - for the Birmingham game - they'll deem it safe to let 3k Brummies (most of whom will be half pissed) straight out onto Bramall Lane at full-time. As it's a 'Quid A Kid' game, a lot of these youngesters will no doubt come into contact with these Brummie Neanderthals. What can possibly go wrong?

As it turned out SYP segregated Bramall Lane. I was sat near the big screen and had to exit the ground from the corner stand on the opposite side, then walk up to London Road just to get into town. By the time I made it to Moorfoot, plod had escorted the rowdies halfway to the station.

And just as a random sample of one, the Brummies' chants were pretty funny, and the ones I spoke to outside were pretty sound. I think the nobs were pretty tightly marshalled by plod.

Why wasn't an area further across (maybe behind the goal) chosen, as ticket availability would be much better?

Ticket availability, proximity to the more populated/potentially vocal Westfield Corner and South Stand and future season ticket possibilities.

I wanted to be central initially but for some reason the back 5 rows of the central block aren't available for sale. But that was a blessing in disguise I think because short term at least I think Gangway E is the best option.

If it takes off I think the central block would fill up. Long term I want it to get to a point where at least the back part (9 rows) of those 2 blocks are full with singy chanty Bladey types.

So common sense actually prevailed then!

This is a promising sign for the future.

If they moved everyone towards the corner exits yesterday, then they could do similar if the BLUT was full up to Gangway E. In which case there'd be no safety/access based reason not to allow season ticket sales in this area.

Just over a week to go. Couple more seats filled today but we need to start seeing more movement on ticket sales ideally.

I hope people aren't waiting to see others move to the BLUT before deciding to themselves. What is there to lose?

We need a core who are committed to this otherwise it won't work.

Poll voters, are you all serious about going ahead with it?

I'm waiting until I've got the day off before the game to sort it, but yes, I will be moving

Most of the seats will be filled this weekend and in to next week

Hopefully by 'our lot'. But I don't know what to expect tbh. I just hope everybody follows through with it because as long as they do we'll have decent numbers for a first outing.

I voted to move and I did it yesterday for me and my two sons.
See you up there!

Looks like it's filling up a bit more now. Another four seats have been filled on the second to back row. That anyone on here?

Thanks for organising this Ricky, great idea.
I didn’t vote, but we’ve just moved over from the JSS. We’ve taken 3 seats on Row V 104-6. My lad, who gets to most of the away games with me, has been pestering me to move somewhere more vocal at the Lane! Roll on Friday, looking forward to doing our bit!

What do we think about this idea for the short term:

The club make the back 5 rows of Gangway E unavailable for sale, thus creating an area for unofficial unreserved seating. It would be much simpler for everyone that way - just get your ticket anywhere on the BLUT then move into that area knowing you won't be taking anyone's seat. I don't see any problem with this for games that won't sell out, which is almost all of them.

I know we'd have to involve the club here but I think it would be a good short term solution.

^ Is there any reason the club wouldn't go along with this? Would it have to get past the dreaded safety officer?

Another good solution would be the option to move season tickets for individual games online.

Is there any reason they couldn't do this?

Well done for trying to be innovative. Unfortunately its a word not in the vocabulary of Blades off field Activities Ltd. You've answered your own question. Safety Officer will have palpitations at the thought of not having a name and address allocated to each seat so he can send them a letter telling them to watch their language.

My response would be:

1. We blatantly aren't there to cause trouble and in any case I've made it very clear we couldn't afford to 'misbehave'
2. We're nowhere near and have no access to the away fans - which would be the most likely basis of any trouble
3. There are so many empty seats available in the BLUT that loads up there won't spend the game in their allocated seat anyway
4. Presumably the club have good CCTV - if not, then they should, and there's no excuse
5. Stewards - put one (with common sense) up there with us if needs be

I think the club would be more open to assisting in something like this than they used to be but it wouldn't surprise me if they (the safety officer) threw obstacles in the way. Even though it should actually be clubs coming up with these initiatives, not the likes of me.

Anybody yet to sort their tickets, try and get them somewhere on the back 2 rows so we get them filled. Rows V and W.
