Wait and see how futile it is.

The alternative to forcing it is doing nothing and hoping it miraculously improves. In which case, nothing changes. If our vocal support is not naturally very good now then it never will be.

How will it 'come back to me' exactly? What I'm doing could only improve our support. And if it improves our support at all then you won't have a leg to stand on if you want to try and throw some shit in my direction. In fact you won't regardless.

Oh dear.

Fair play. Good luck with it all.

Bristol City tickets will probably go on sale tomorrow. Certainly this week.

I think our support is quite good but trying to force it to be better is futile.

A guy on Twitter just posted this from yesterday.

It's a good sight isn't it?
I was away yesterday but surprised to see a crowd of “only” 27,500, given the look of the stands. That stand is usually two thirds empty. Where were the gaps in the stands?

Well, there was that bottom corner of the South Stand, as ever. For some reason.

About 500 in the Hull end.

Plenty empty towards the other side of the BLUT.

And as always probably the left side of the Kop.

It did seem really full, but thinking about it 27,500 probably seems about right.

Sat in the Westfield health corner yesterday for the first time. Wow what a great view! My young lad really enjoyed it because he could actually see for once ( we normally sit on the kop). Atmosphere was decent as well. Would be great to keep the numbers up in that area of the ground.

Can't make it I'm afraid, working near Bedford & don't finish till about 6.30, will be there in sprit though.
Can't get to the pigs game for the same reason... Bastard Sky...

Got a ST up there agree with all of the above.

Tickets sorted for row T, for a gruff base, accompanied, and hopefully drowned out by two sweet voiced Bladesses.
Good luck with this Ricky.

Only just seen this thread and even if it doesn’t come off, which I think it will, Ricky deserves huge credit for even attempting it.

I’ll have a word with a few who I go with to get their thoughts, if they haven’t seen it already.

Decades ago there was the Shoreham Republican Army (SRA).

This is the Bramall Republican Army.

Gets behind the team so we can get a couple in front and hopefully gain some cups.
I like it!

Now where’s that Leonard thread? :)

So........the BRA?

Regarding safe standing, it's extremely unsavoury how much emphasis is placed on 'safety'.

There is no safety issue to be had.

Standing on its own isn't any kind of problem and never has been.

As long as capacity is controlled then seating areas are more dangerous, especially on steeper stands. The only possible safety issue would arise when jumping around celebrating a goal - it's easy to trip over the seat in front, especially when the back of the seat is shin height. And to be honest the worst thing that can generally happen is scraping your shins. Any sort of rail, on stands of any rake, would be 100% safe. Safer than any seated area.

This is just basic common sense but the authorities are determined to disregard it at all costs. Every possible obstacle is being put in the way. For no reason whatsoever.

SYPD and the SAG are only trying to make it safe for everybody. That's why - for the Birmingham game - they'll deem it safe to let 3k Brummies (most of whom will be half pissed) straight out onto Bramall Lane at full-time. As it's a 'Quid A Kid' game, a lot of these youngesters will no doubt come into contact with these Brummie Neanderthals. What can possibly go wrong?

If anybody's in the V.I.P Blades Facebook group feel free to post this on there:

We're trying to get a group of Blades in the Bramall Lane Upper Tier to improve vocal support. Bristol City game is the first target. See details and follow if interested.
https://twitter.com/BLUT_Blades

No need to say anything else.

I'd do it myself but I requested to join over a week ago and they've not accepted me. I can only assume I'm not Bladey enough.

Combined polls on here and Twitter indicate that we'll have at least 80 moving for this game, as expected. Interest will only increase as the game approaches and I'm going to keep publicising it.

So it is going ahead, there's no reason to wait and see before deciding. You have nothing to lose anyway. I'd also say to anyone thinking about it not to wait and see if it takes off before joining in, but to make an initial effort to help ensure it takes off.

There are reasons I'd like people to sort their tickets early. I don't want the club to be tempted to set aside a chunk of our target area for free tickets. I don't want to give too many 'siddarn and shurrup' types the chance to get tickets where we want to be. I want to get the back couple of rows filled as quickly as possible - this would secure the minimum platform we need straightaway and also encourage others to move.

The most important thing here though is not to leave it to the week of the game.

Good chance to sort tickets on Tuesday night before/after the Fulham game.

Thanks for the update Ricky. I've looked at the seating plan but (as usual) can't quite work it out. If I'm reading it correctly the seat number ranges you have in mind start at around 100 up to 137, row "W" and under?

I'm looking at the sales for the Fulham game, and big chunks of the area we'll be targeting are sold/unavailable. It seems unlikely that they'd sell them that way, so maybe they do set them aside for whatever purpose. You'll see what I mean here...

I don't want that happening for the Bristol City game, because we'd have to change the plan at short notice and wouldn't be as organised. So to reiterate, I do want a decent number of people to sort their tickets early. Ideally everyone would but if just enough do then the club won't take any of the seats away.

I'll email the ticket office about this if needs be. I'm sure they'd be helpful but it shouldn't have to come to that.

For anyone sorting it by phone or at the ticket office, just ask for 'Gangway E, as far back as possible'. It doesn't have to be any more complicated than that.
If everybody did that, every seat would be filled from the back row (W) downwards.

If you're buying a ticket online, you can see the row and seat number when you hover over it. The back row should be at the bottom of your screen as you look at it (as in above image).

The seats I'm targeting are all between numbers 104 to 125. That's all of Gangway E.

I've just sent this message to all Twitter followers, so I'm going to put it on here too and tag those who've voted in the poll:

Important details for the Bristol City game:

Poll responses suggest we'll easily get towards 100 up there. So don't doubt that it's going ahead.

What to do: Move to Gangway E of the BLUT ("Redbrik Upper"). As near to the back as possible (back row is W). Seats 104 to 125. Season tickets can be moved, either by phone or at the ticket office.

If you can, please sort your tickets out early. Don't leave it until the week of the game. This is important and there are reasons for this - I've stated them on the Twitter page.

What to expect: Hopefully a good back of Kop/away day type of atmosphere.*

To anybody thinking about it, if this seems like your kind of thing then don't wait and see if it takes off before joining in, make an effort to ensure it does take off. Help start something that could have a big positive impact for our support long term.

Keep monitoring the Twitter page for any additional details.

I’m a bit too old for this, but credit to Ricky for trying something new.

Rest assured I’ll be doing my bit from the kop, unlike many around me. :)

I find myself with BLUT tickets for the Fulham game, and would like to know the drill, please.

Scarf, rosette and bobble hat are prepared, but do I need to bring the rattle?

So this is now the next home game.

Would like to start seeing some movement on ticket sales this week.

If not then I hope the seats in the target area are still available come the week of the game. There are no guarantees.
