After a spare customer number for pigs game asap.

Gonna forfeit my ticket for my 14 year old unless I can obtain one more.

Last gasp plea if anyone has 42,500 plus points I can use today, so I can go with him and his brother.

Happy to get you a pint tonight/Saturday.

I know many will frown on this but really don't want to miss .

Cheers

Not being funny but there are plenty of people in the 40k-42.5k gap who are sweating on being able to get tickets tomorrow.

Is it fair that on them that your 14 year old gets a ticket and they don't, despite the fact they have probably been to a lot more game, and the loyalty point system is designed to give them priority.

He can ask, whats the problem? If no one wants to give it up, they dont have too. People in the 40k gap can also ask.....

This. A politely asked question. Nowt wrong with that is there?

So if I miss out on a ticket for the Derby, because my 40k worth of loyalty points weren't high enough, then I should be suck it up, and not say anything because someone else asked politely if they could use someone else's loyalty points to get a ticket over me.

It's effectively queue jumping, and I'm pissed off with it

Women and kids should be at the back of the queue anyway - 14 year will probably just be looking down at social media on phone all game

Away at the the Rust bucket should be exclusively filled with nasty, snarling Bladesmen.

He won't be on his phone. He doesn't miss games. He'll be there tonight,as he has been at all other games this season and vast majority last as well.
Hence why he'll have my ticket if I don't sort another. It'll hurt me to miss it as this would be the first since I was a nipper but I cannot see him missing out.

This sort of request is inevitably going to occur. Not much point criticising the OP for looking for a way to make the game - people will always do it.

Unless the tickets have names which are cross referenced with ID on the turnstile, loyalty points will be traded in this way. Though 1 pint is stingy. :)

I accept your point but on the flip side of that, why should it be fair to punish someone who was born a lot later than someone else? The loyalty points needs a revamp in some way, shape or form.

We don't sell out every away game. Didn't remember the clamour for tickets at Millwall last season so perhaps the revamp should be to give everyone an extra 5000 points for that game and other midweek games over 200 miles away.

I like how the system rewards people's longevity of support, but at some point we'll end up in a situation where the entire end at Pigs away is taken up by OAPs because they've had longer to accrue "points".

Not moaning, just being a dick for the sake of it.
Exactly! As I say, it just needs tweaking somewhat. Like restart it every 5 years or something with those who keep going getting a bit of an head start so to speak. It's hard I know but I'm looking out for my lad who has no chance of getting a ticket with me, now how crazy is that when football should be all about going to a game and taking your son or daughter?

But people die and others stop going for a multitude of reasons so there will be a natural churn, thing is if you start knocking off years you are then punishing people who went away in the very lean years (circa 2008-2015) when there was zilch demand for away tickets.

That's like turning round to a Liverpool fan who's had a season ticket for the last 30 years that they'll be a fresh ballot for next season.

Ain't gunna work.

Do you think every other club in the premiership doesn't have this problem?

This will only be the case if the said OAP's continue to accrue points from away matches. The young un's will soon pass us OAP's if they attend sufficient away matches. My youngest now has more points than me because he goes to every away game even though I have had a season ticket longer, I don't go to as many away from the lane.

I do think it should be on some sort of 5 year rolling cycle though. My lad has been home and away since he started working 2 years ago and had a season ticket for the last 9 years but will probably struggle for the derby as he did for Northampton last year. He gets it and before long he will have enough points to move up into the next bracket, it just seems that the points required for earlier purchases keeps moving away from him.

I refuse to go and give them any portion of my hard earned but fully support anyone that does want to go and am glad that my team will have 2500 fellow blades supporting them to the hilt there. Been there and done that '79 still hurts f****in Curran.

I am led to believe that spurs have a 5yr rolling points system. You have to register online if you want an away ticket. Depending on how many tickets they are given they start at the top point holders and work down the list, any returned tickets are given to the next in line.
Thus everybody at the top of the list applies wether they are going or not.
They also have an unofficial site where people can sell unwanted tickets for these games.
Nobody has any chance of getting into this top tier.
At least our way if you keep going and accrue more points you have a chance of climbing the ladder.
I might not get a pig ticket this year but hopefully will in the future :)

I've got no problem with people buying tickets for others if they can't go themselves. If you have earned a right to a ticket, you have a right to offer it to a mate. Loyalty points aren't the only indicator or how deserving you are of a ticket. I'm a former ST holder who now lives abroad, get to as many games as I can, but have eff-all loyalty points. However, if the points system had started back to 1978 I'd have more than most. People jump the queue for all kinds of reasons - maybe they know a club employee, a player, or someone with a corporate box. Should players be forced to give their derby tickets to those with the most loyalty points as opposed to their mates?

Same here, bought a season ticket for past 2 seasons despite living in Ireland. It's costing me around 4k a season watching the blades yet I have 10k points....

In fact taking into account taxi fares both sides, probably nearer to 5-6k.

Am I less worthy?!

If it had started in 1978 it's highly likely that you'd still be down the pecking order behind those who are still going who were also there then.

No one is ever satisfied but if you buy an ST and go regularly away you are up there, as my 17 year olds 40k points total shows. Him and others like him - whatever age - shouldn't miss out because someone fancies a showpiece game every now and then.

Let's say you were a big fan of Justin Beiber, you had all his albums and were a member of his fan club. You'd seen him play loads of times over the years. Your devotion pays its rewards when he announces a small gig at the Lyceum. Only 2,000 tickets are available but you are one of the lucky ones - you get the opportunity to buy a ticket!

Come the day of the concert, it turns out you can't go. But your mate, also a mad Bieber fan (but not in the official fan club and therefore not eligible for a ticket) tells you that he would really love to go. By your logic, you wouldn't sell the ticket to your mate. Instead, you would return it so it would go to a more deserving "Belieber"

Sadly, yes.

I can't fault your financial commitment but I've had a season ticket on the Kop since 1981 and my god have I suffered some shite. This means I've picked up 2,500 points every year, for renewing the ST since the scheme started.

Any scheme will have 'winners' and 'losers' as the overriding fact is that there simply aren't enough tickets to go around.

I was ST holder from 89 - 98 also. Then back again 2002 - 2006 before I then moved to the Gulf and Africa making it impossible :p

The main problem is we're being offered crap allocations.

The system is flawed but no matter that you do you won't please everyone.

The 'less attractive' games should garner more LP.
It could work on a miles from Bramall Lane system, the further away it is the more LP, also if you go despite it being on TV, go in midweek, etc etc

There are loads of factors to improve our current system but they can't please everyone.
