Ive been waiting in today for a bloke to come round and install a TV aerial. This right chirpy Cockney bloke just arrived and when he gets in he sees my United scarf on the bannister and says "Youre a Blades fan?"

"Yeah" I say "for my sins"

"Thats ok" he replies "so's my old man"

A few weeks' back I was down the Oasis gym in Bloomsbury wearing my 1998 vintage shirt when I saw a youngish bloke wearing last season;s shirt. I went over to him and said "another United fan!" or somesuch and he looked at me like I was mad. One minute of stilted conversation later and I went back to my machine and left him to it.

As the Oasis is apparently one of London's premier cruising spots he may have been firmly heterosexual and thought I had gone to the trouble of getting a United shirt in order to give me an excuse to hit on him. I haven't seen him there since....

You do get quite a collection of oddballs in the mens changing rooms at the Oasis. He probably just thought anyone talking to him was wired. Either that or he was put off by your speedos.

It was in the gym itself actually, but you're right about the changing rooms. Don't catch the eye of the man having a wank in the shower unless you fancy him...

I once came upon the staff telling a sheepish looking chap sat on a bench in the changing room he had to stay there until the police arrived, so God knows what he had been up to.

"old" blue Jag spotted on A41 in Edgware then A1 near Hatfield this morning sporting a snazzy Blades air freshener. Totally oblivious to my hooting and gesticulating, probably thought I was the local nutcase!
 
I served a Blade at work in a coffee shop in Coalville, Leicestershire on the Saturday of the Oldham game. Thought I was the only one around here (think there's a few Blades in Loughborough down the road?)
 



Thought I'd resurrect this one:

- Bloke stood on Green Park tube platform last week with what looked like a vintage Blades shirt under his jumper

- Car with Blades air freshener in Fazeley near Drayton Manor Park yesterday
 
Not quite on topic, but there's a bloke down my gym swears he's Elvis....no....wears a Wednesday shirt.

We spotted each other the other day (me in my United shirt) and smiled at each other.

I was on a scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef earlier this year trying to get a picture of a shark. I was just biding my time waiting for it to get used to my presence, until it suddenly turned and fled. I looked round thinking that maybe a bigger shark had scared it off, (and might also take a shine to me), to see this bloke wearing that hideous purple away kit they had in the late 80's. Fat bastard obviously had enough blubber on him to keep him warm at 20m down without a wetsuit.
 
In Rome last year, went to the Vatican, a bloke there white skull cap and long white robe, could have sworn he had a Blades shirt underneath his clothes
 
I was out in Russia the other week training on me space program...anyway, we launch and get up to the moon and there's this astronaut with a Blades shirt under her space suit!

It's only that bleeding Helen Sharman in't it!
 
Football in now very hip and trendy in New York. I wore my Blades top in the gym and as I was leaving the young hipster dude on reception said "Hey, it's the first time I've seen a Shef-field Wednesday shirt in here"

"This isn't Wednesday, it's United. They are different clubs" I said

"Oh really dude? Wow. So, like, you play at the same stadium?" he said.

"Look it up on the Internet" I said, and walked off before he had a chance to respond.

Saw a bloke with a Blades tattoo on his leg in Barcelona airport on Monday.
