LSF . We know that the Blades players are Brian Richardson and Cec Coldwell. I am sure the Wendy player on the extreme left is Billy Griffin but who is the Wendy player on the foreground turning his head away in frustration? I dont think he played many games for them

Difficult one that Silent! Agree about Griffin, I had the dubious pleasure of playing with and against him in the early 70s after his professional career had ended.
As for the other bloke, guessing the game is one in 62-65 looking at kits. I'd hazard guesses at John Hickton, Derek Wilkinson, maybe even Howard Wilkinson ( though I'm not sure he ever appeared in a Sheffield Derby?), or Colin Dobson.

Not sure SB. .I think it looks like David Layne from looking at photos..I'll ask my Wendy supporting Brother in law when I next see him...1962 will be about the last time he went to a game.

I did see the name of that Wendy player in the Morning Telegraph archives many years ago, it was someone who hadnt played many games for them but I had forgotten his name. Dont think it was any of the names you mentioned as I was aware of Layne, Hickton, Wilkinson and Dobson when I saw the name

2) the TWAT of a referee in swillsboro, not giving us a blatant penalty in the 2nd half - was stood in an aisle way on the pigs kop so had a great view.........twat - we would have got the double.

Asked a Wendy fan at work (who is knowledgeable about Wendy players since the late 1960s) about the Wendy player on the left. He doesnt recognise him too. John Ritchie was a Stoke player at the time and I wonder if he played as a "guest" in Gerry Young's testimonial?

His third and last game was a month later. Was Horrobin a forward LSF ?
