They say it's a confidence game but even after the brilliant result at QPR I can't hand on heart muster the confidence to think we will get anything from this game. Will be great if in my lifetime I can go to every home game expecting to win and being gutted if we don't rather than dreading going and seeing yet another piss poor LEAGUE performance in this piss poor league. It's nice if we come away with something but disappointing to feel overjoyed because we managed a win, bit like a manure fan in reverse a few seasons ago.

Great result. I was just looking at the table and if we'd lost, we'd have slipped to 9th. I wouldn't even have fancied us for the play offs if that happened. As it stands, there is even a slight chance we might sneak into second by May if we can continue to play like we did today or against QPR. Preston are a decent side.

Turtle's head time at the end once again though. I bet no Blades fan would have been surprised if Preston had equalised.

First half was a dog turd of a performance, catswhiskers of a referee performance. I wrote my quoted comment at half time, as it bored me to tears. All the entertainment was second afe..

Winds are dreadful. Wondered whether referee might deem it too windy for those travelling to the game. We might get blown over. Hit by a tree or flying objects?

Public safety was truly on the agenda..from the thugs in insipid vomit yellow kit. Haven't seen a dirtier shower of twats at the Lane for a while in the league. As for the ones in the lane end..some person threw a flare onto the pitch.. They need banning. For several years we had half o t south stand shut due to one of our doughnutds hurling flares at a piglet. Cretin he was. Ban these toerags from our stadium.

Wow! Thought first half was a really good performance against a very dirty side who were clearly trying to target Doyle into reacting. He didn't and led us into half time in a good position to kick on second half.

Stats say it all: 21 Fouls by them yet only 4 yellow cards given!

I think Preston were abysmal in front of goal. Reminded me of Leeds with wanker Beckford strutting around upfront.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that. Preston created little all game, first half, once things settled we bossed the game and controlled the tempo.

Can't really remember many chances first half for either side. Second half we commanded the game and could've finished 3 or 4 up had scoogs and Doyle finished better
