Blades v Plymouth
Stadium: Bramall Lane
Date: 06/12/2014 - 15:00

What do you think about match?

Best defensive record in League 2, only conceded 2 in last 10 games. Plymouth to Nick it 1-0 late on, because we'll let them.

Blades. Plimuff

Possession. 90% 10%
Shots. 37. 1
On target. 10. 1

Depressingly familiar

Sheridan is not stupid - although he often sounds it and is an ex Pig so he has few redeeming features - he will have looked at the last 4 home games and will set up to counter just like all the others have. They will be confident in not conceding as they have a good record, defensively in their league, and a competent keeper and will bide their time hoping that the levels of frustration rise and create a sense of inevitability as to the outcome.

For the Blades I cannot see anything else but more of the same tactics.
Plenty of possession in areas of the pitch we cannot hurt them
A modicum of pressure around their 18 yard area whilst we pass it from one side to the other and back again
Some crosses that get cut out at the near post and others that sail over the single Blades forward in the box
A few long range efforts from midfield as the options to pass and re-work the ball dry up
A handful of shots on target
Fewer shots requiring McCormick to do anything to prevent a goal

Breakaway from one of our set pieces
Sucker punch goal
FT 0-1

Post match interview stating that the performance was very good and the lads were totally focused on the job in hand but we just didn't have that luck in front of goal our play deserved. The ref should have awarded us two penalties but for some reason we are not getting any of those decisions from officials at the moment. If we play like that in our upcoming fixtures then someone is going to get a right hiding one of these days.

Record interview and play back next week

Everything to click into place and we get the 1.0 win our one player up front tactic deserves.

Wonder what the crowd will be. My mate said only South stand and Kop were open but I went in Tuesday night and bought my seats in the John Street stand

Baxter and Mcnulty should really have done Deane/Agana and bagged a hatrick each ,Baxter missed absolute sitter and McNulty 2.

Baxter will never have a better chance of sealing a hat-trick.

I knew you'd find something to slag him off about, you doom and gloomer!:)But quite right;)

Baxter will never have a better chance of sealing a hat-trick.

I said exactly the same as Baxter sprawled on the turf reflecting on pushing that one just wide. Greg Halford did similar away at Orient in that rearranged Cup tie when we won 4-1 - he'd scored twice and poked an almost identical chance to Jose's just wide of the post, and he reacted in the same way. And as the predictable so-and-so that I am, I said, "He'll never get a better chance to score a hat-trick!"
