Watchin Frost on Netflix. The episode where Denton FC are on a cup run and the star player gets poisoned, one of the players turns the tv on in his flat and the commentator is John Hume. He mentions Gayle and Whitehouse so I assume that was a United game.

Was in the crowd scene in that episode. My mate was a big Halifax fan and I went with him to a game (Kidderminster I think) and they filmed the crowd scenes at it. Can’t see myself mind so my chance of discovery by Hollywood passed me by again.

There was a film made during the war or perhaps just after a thriller I think, but it was set during the war, one scene the radio was on the background and it was anouncing the results, I think it was a arsenal blades game, whenever this film was on TV my mum would always mention the moment.
Sos I can't provide any more info than that.

I remember this too, Saturday afternoons when BBC2 would show old black & white films, not classics either but enjoyable all the same (we may only have had 3 channels back then, my dad would always switch over for final score). I seem to remember they were in an alpine hotel too which made the results on the radio even more bizarre!
