Blades should give thanks to the McCabes

While he's looking for that, show us your evidence for Warnock being sacked.

You've admitted Warnock didn't want to leave and would have stayed on. I believe he would have. His contract wasn't renewed.

So, erm, what is that, in anyone's terms, rather than a sacking?

Faced with that, isn't his typical mea cupla resignation slightly misaligned?

Like I say, save buying another copy of a book to prove to you, who can't be arsed to read it, some sort of point I cannot help you. Maybe someone on here has read it who could either confirm or deny what the content is?

You've either misquoted me or misunderstood me.

You asked whether I thought he wanted to stay on. I said I don't think he did, no.

So if you're trying to use me to back up this claim....swing and a miss.

And 'contract not renewed' is a resignation, is it?

Like I say, can't put my hand on the book as it is. As your not arsed to read it, I can't help you.

Contract not renewed is your phrase.
I don't need help, I've made no claims that can't be backed up.
I've quoted Warnock himself disagreeing with your theory.

Warnock told McCabe not to renew his contract? Then why was he bleating all the way up to the Wigan game?

I have a copy of "were going on a bear hunt" if any body wants to read it. :)

I've no idea what Warnock told McCabe.
I know what Warnock told a press conference, that he resigned. I've seen his interviews where he said he resigned.
I've seen nothing anywhere to say he was sacked.
Anyone is free to contradict this with something that says he was.

He wanted it renewed, feller. He didn't want to leave SUFC. Pretty obvious to anyone.

Like I say, he won't be back while McCabe is here.

And if he was offered a new contract, but not on the terms he felt he was worth? What then?

How do you know? I don't know.
You're guessing, so I thought I would.

We're in the same place then. Difference being is I seem to remember (but await someone to confirm who has read the book) that Warnock's version of things isn't quite aligned with the given statements of the time. Yo are making assumptions on things that didn't happen.

Hope this helps.

Doesn't that assume that having an Arab owner signifies disaster?

The term Arab seems to have become a generic phrase, so what about the owners of Manchester City or PSG? Hardly in need of the begging bowl are they.

I agree, they are not all bad, but ours are as yet an unknown quantity, if there isn't the steadying influence of a McCabe on the board we have no idea what path they might take.
On the other hand, love him or loath him McCabe is a known quantity and I would say overall he has done a good job.

Alan Sugar once said "business is about making decisions and getting more right than you get wrong" having owned a business I can testify to that, for sure McCabe has made some wrong decisions, but overall he has made more good ones that in my opinion have kept the club afloat.

The one that owns Malaga FC bought the club and then was going to invest in a new port in Marbella - so far he has failed at every hurdle to comply with the required money requirements at every deadline. He also wanted to build a new academy for Malaga FC but so far has failed every deadline to show the colour of his money. Now the authorities just don't trust them going forward in terms of completing any of the projects.
Malaga FC have parted with every descent player they had and the money simply hasn't been reinvested in the team - so far played three - lost three to mediocre opposition, I expect them to be relegated this season which is a shame because they have a really good following, especially from the Brit' contingent.

PS. The only reason we use a "generic" name is because generally they all have very long and complicated names that nobody can remember let alone spell - it's certainly not mean't to be offensive.

We really aren't.
The official version, back up by articles, press conferences and Warnock himself.
Your version, based on your assumptions about something you might have read
In a book.

Once again pommpey wins with his 'I once read a book' line.

T'owd Tunstall with his autolike there. He's like an obedient puppy, isn't he? Lipstick out, humping the nearest leg giving him a dog treat.

Mind you coco, not so long ago, you were tucked up in your bed in an argument, weren't you? Its a shame, because I get the strange feeling we agree on most things, but if it snaps your cracker, carry on son.

I dropped it as you can't tell me what was written.
Don't worry, if he said he'd been sacked, I'm sure there would be a newspaper article you could use as your first scrap of evidence.
He wasn't "sacked" per se, but his services were no longer required, hence no contract offer and his bleating on the morning of the Wigan game.

I've read two separate newspaper reports that said he was offered a contract but his wage would be cut dramatically if we went down.

Yup, you did me right and proper.

It's your arguing skill see, allied to your natural intelligence, wit and sharpness.

You win again, well done you!

Cheers buddy! Dead proud I am. Well worth it.

United are playing, thanose.

Can't link to it as on my phone but I googled "Why did Warnock leave Sheffield United" and the top 2 articles are from The Guardian and The Express.

Both make the same affirmation that the contract wasn't an issue, stated by McCabe

Feel free to do the same for your claims.

Yeah. I'll say it again, because you're not listening. The book isn't available online. If it pleases you, I have reordered a second hand one for a couple of quid. Quite happy to update you either way, and send it you to read on completion.

I'm done now- I've backed up what I've said.

Feel free to @ me if you ever find anything that backs up your claim.

Great. Have fun.
