I will be in Portugal for the first leg of the play off semis.
Anyone know of any Blades pubs on the Algarve, to watch it in, (I know we’re not there yet, but hopefully, we will be in the play offs)
I used to go to a pub run by a great blade called Mal Sissons back in the day, in Armacao de pera , but that’s long gone.

I have been to Albufeira lots of times(pre Covid) I don't know of a specific one. Rockline bottom of Strip, turn left and 5 mins walk. On the corner, huge bar, with a large Intermarche just round the corner so you can't miss it. 2 outdoor screens of which one is some size. They have many TV's inside also and show loads of games but in our current League I don't expect much. They would always try and source for me but then I've known the owner for years. Good luck depending where you are. I'd be backed up with another source if I were you and I am when I go down there. I think I'll book something in the next couple of weeks now to go after typing this!

Mal has been the landlord at the cricks for the last few years.

Villamoura marina, there are a couple on the North side of the Marina, can't remember their names but they are close to the My Thai restaurant. One small one run by a great Indian family and another larger close by. Access from Rua do Clube Nautico. Watched a few game there over the winter.

Not sure of any blades boozers apart from further up the coast, but if you go down to a sports bar they will have the game on. They tend to have multi screens going on in these bars showing all the games that are on. If you nip in early and ask them they will put the game you want on the main screen. That’s my experience.

The Waterdog in Armacao de Pera always have a match on.
Maybe worth a ring if you are in the area.

This was a bold post.

Obviously won't be there now but I remember in the early 90's a bar in Portugal always used to sponsor one of the players kits in the programme. I don't know why I have that random memory as I could not tell you a single other player sponsor but I do.

Fairly sure it was Colin Hill they sponsored?

It's on Sky and you can get Sky in Europe. Most genuine Brit and Irish pubs will have it.

I'll probably be in watching the second leg in our 'lucky' Spanish bar on Mediterranio in Benidorm. Never saw them lose there over three seasons (not every game obviously). Our 'luck' finally ran out in our second season in the PL.

Watched our game v Liverpool there.

Portuguese pubs will generally sympathetic towards the Blades because of Jimmy Hagan, he was still a household name there after all these years. I had a wonderful evening after showing my Blades season ticket in one bar!
