Remember Franks scoring the equaliser at Millwall in a 1-1 draw we were in the side stand no celebrationRead an article about Franks. http://watfordlegends.com/interviews/colin-franks/
Might have been put on here, can't remember.
Interesting.
Most of those were nearly as bad as that kit, and that’s saying something.Take your pick from this crap Trusson Kenyworthy and possibly Mcphail exempt
Side note: He played for us before I was born but Andy Leaning was my Goalkeeping coach when I played in Chesterfield's development teams and I've resented him ever since. Very much from the 'drill sergeant school of coaching, never any praise or encouragement which was a bit OTT for 10-14yr old kids. Must have done something right to land a job coaching for us.
Throwing David Sommeil into the ring. Another 'good signing on paper', a right back with top flight experience and having played at Marseille and Bordeaux. Nope, he was slow, never got close to his man defending and doubt he got forward enough to put a cross in. Lasted 5 games before being bombed out for Kozluk - think he made one more appearance that season as a centre-back in the FA Cup to Swansea (Then of League 1)
Although to be fair McGinn and McGinty have made reasonable careers for themselves albeit at lower levelsDavid Weir's bulk haul of shite.....
Jasper John's.... yeah exactly, who?
Stephen McGinn......ermmm
Sean McGinty......oh dear
Fabian Brandy.....best of a bad bunch.
Ohhh.....those dark, dark days!
If no ones mentioned him already. I nominate
Mark Rankine
I can’t say anything else as I have to go and be sick
Only United!!! Been said many a time, certainly seems to fit here me thinks. Oh! and my choice for this thread, despite his extensive inclusion, which means someone though differently, Bobby Ford.Read an article about Franks. http://watfordlegends.com/interviews/colin-franks/
Interesting to hear the player's side of things. So he signed and then the manager left and the new manager was someone he had a bad relationship with from a previous club.
So what does the team look like?
Can anybody dispute Lee Baxter in goal? I think Tony Moore was a defender, Hammond, Thirlwell in midfield, maybe Craig Beattie up front.
Ok, I can live with Baxter not making the team given he only ever played 45 minutes but was Leaning worse than Nicky Johns? No doubt Baxters performance was abject, but mercifully that was the only chance he ever got to show it. Personally I'd select my 11 from hell based on being consistently terrible.
In my time, we have done reasonably well for goalkeepers. The only reason I havent picked Derek Richardson is because the performances of the guy I have chosen are a little fresher in my mind.
Andy Leaning, step forward.

Edit: I think those would be the contenders Baxter, Johns, Leaning, Richardson.
Totally , utterly fucking useless and yet chosen by Warnock to play ahead of Stuart McCall in the vital play off against Wolves .
I rest my case , your Honour .
You are bloody right. Montgomery couldn't, pass, shoot or tackle. What about Paddy Buckley, the flying pig.?Nick Montgomery, and before you say 'not in the last decade', he was so fucking shite that he offered fuck all for years, way before 2010.
