couldn't give a fuck if it did, but how would it? We're only on there once or twice a year these days.

Cos last year you could select any team and switch as many times as you liked and watch their highlights / games. Think they've cottoned on now though.

Lets make no mistake about this. Blades Player is absolutely awful, but its sadly all that we’ve got.

I subscribe to Eurosport Player at GBP 10 per month and also TriathlonTV which is about 14 GBP and it gives me access to all content for the season.

Both have live TV, when races are on Triathlon TV beams them live around the world, Eurosport needs a couple of work arounds when you’re outside the UK. Videos are normally available within hours.

Blades Player charges me something like 50-60 GBP for the season, offers really crappy commentary or Radio Sheffield Feed. The videos are crap and the other content is often very basic (a couple of interviews). There is no interaction and considering that the ‘Player’ model is used by most Football league clubs, they’re probably making a hell of a lot of money overall.

If the Blades negotiated their own media package with a local company to cover streaming and all the highlights, goals, content and interactivity, it would probably cost less and be a lot better. Blades Player is absolutely shite.

surprised, and a bit disgusted TBH, that they are charging you almost double just for being abroad - it's just a connection over the net.

Been trying to watch Bolton game yesterday and today and the quality is much worse than least season, not sure I find it watchable. I don't think there's owt wrong with my broadband speed. I've switched to linux since then and it uses a different flashplayer in firefox to the windows version, it's just a security patched v11, so I'll do some more checks on a windows machine, but if it's the same I might cancel to be honest.

Having sung it's praises on here I'm a bit pissed off at the moment.

how much do you pay a year?

I pay £38 by direct debit otherwise it's £4 monthly.

Update on the above BTW I managed to try it on a windows machine that has has flashplaye 22 for firefox and the picture was clearer, but the video was still as jittery. Bit more checking to do before I draw any conclusions.

couldve sworn it was £50, but maybe you're right.

I don't think the club get a say in it. It's a league collective deal, I believe.

Yeah, it's about £38 for a season but they already know how flush SwissBlade is so they charge him a premium :)

I've got it for the games I miss through having to work..I'm even sad enough to watch the games back that I attend, and to be fair you do sometimes see the game in a different light...No commentary for the Full Match, but you get them on the10/12 minute highlights..You can also go on every other teams media player if you want to have a look at their highlights which are sometimes about 20 minutes, but don't always show full match.

I thought I'd try BP as I can't get to midweek games and to be honest the video qualityis very poor, ok at the small youtube size screen, next size up sees the picture blurring but at full screen size it is abysmal so bad you have trouble recognising the players. If you live away find a dodgy internet stream and watch it live the picture quality will be much better. As for the rest of the content it will be on you tube a day later save your money BP is not really worth it I think I will be cancelling.

Thanks for that update on the BP. I toyed with getting it but have heard bad reports before.

The picture quality is better on the snippets posted by Foxy in here off his phone camera. Another thing I find puzzling is the sound, the microphone must be in the away end as the away fans are much louder than we are, surly this can't be the case you can hardly hear the away fans much on the kop, Oh and the loudest is the chant "programs £3 ....... £3 yer matchday program" I know he has a big gob but still?

I listen to it on my phone when I am working and can't get the match via normal FM and it is useful for me.

.

I'd love to know how you/anyone manage/s to do this? You cannot listen to live match coverage on a phone as far as I'm aware. The licensing agreements don't allow it. I spend a lot of time travelling around, home and abroad, and many's a time I've tuned into to BBC Radio Sheffield on my phone to listen to the pre-match build up. But that's as far as it goes. Once the match approaches kick-off time the music cuts in and a message is relayed that the station is unavailable due to licensing agreements.

Please tell me if different? Because that would be brilliant news to think I could listen live to the commentary on a phone!

You can listen to BP anywhere in the world. You have paid for the privilege. It is different to listening to a radio station, which you are correct, the music cuts in.

Bladesplayer works on all devices matey and I have never had any problems listening to it while abroad either.

Yup, I use BP in Spain for every single game. Its fine, but it is usually a minute or so behind livescore websites / Sky Sports news / texts from mates at the game :D
No problem at all with BP, well worth the cost to keep close to the club.
As you say I get the score first on the board here as BP does run up to a minute behind.
UTB

I use BP to listen to the matches (can't get RS) but also watch every game afterwards ( even the Gillingham one :(). It is different this season (supposedly improved) although last season you were able to select other matches and pick up commentary on those - which I found useful in the latter stages of the season. From what I see this season you only get access to the SUFC matches now.

Cos last year you could select any team and switch as many times as you liked and watch their highlights / games. Think they've cottoned on now though.

If you have a subscription to BP you can get the EFL Player from Android market and change teams as many times as you like. :)
