Everytime I speak to a Blade they’re always account experts having their 2 penneth into Wednesday finances. “The Stir” help to peddle the myth (who happen to be posters on here)
Wednesday may have spent money but it’s all DCs and not borrowed on the never never.
If Sky (as predicted by some) don’t fulfill their payments, you will have problems..

Some quick and dirty maths on the wage structure.

Even Without any employee NI or pension contributions - which it costs the club to employ players

If you assume we pay every one of the 165 non footballs staff members (even including the tea lady) makes 40k a year. That would mean that there is a conservative 30,000,000 split across the 111 playing staff - this equates to 5.2k a week or 271k a year. Now clearly the first team squad are 25 % of the total of that in number , so I can’t see how the avarage first teamer is on less thay 20k a month in the championship (even with a 50% wage drop from the prem.).

Unless we are suggesting all the 17/18 year olds, grounds staff , physios , analysts etc are all on 5k a week too. I reckon our average wage must have been closer to 50k in the prem when it was c£55m when grossed up for 12 months

No one said £72m had gone in in 21/22 but that it was from day one to a few weeks ago.
