Some tough draws – a few top level kits pitted against each other at the first draw, which will displease the broadcasters. A chance for maybe a surprise mediocre kit to get through just based on their horror show opponent – I’m thinking the When Saturday Comes, a home kit that signalled Umbro was on its way out, pitted against the purple & yellow monstrosity.

It’s not one of my favourites to be honest. The black side blocks with red block at the top of the back of the shirt always gave it a bit of a Frankenstein vibe of combining too many different ideas. It’s better than plenty that came afterwards, but I wouldn’t put it ahead of any of the Adidas ones (none of which are my favourite either).

Have to see what happens in the penalty shootout. I definitely underestimated that shirt.

It's fucking ugly and the white one is a cult classic, but I guess recency bias and the emotion around Northampton has played a much bigger part than I imagined.

After 21, years 17/18 home became my all time favourite, taking the crown from 96/97.

Not just the perfect looking Blades shirt - wide stripes, thin black stripes, red in the middle, stripes on the back, and the surprise black sleeves - it’s always going to be remembered for Bouncing Day.

No need to apologise though, everyone makes mistakes

People associate shirts with success. That was the promotion shirt... We never lost a game wearing it
