sunderland tonked newcastle on the last day so we could have lost and gone up
but we did it with style
You need to thank your Dad for keeping up the celebration (as well as other things) then or you wouldn't be hereI was a month away from conception![]()
It was Marco Gabbiadini.
Yes Gates scored the 1st goal. I thought he had retired from playing by then!Sorry to puncture your 100% record, SB, but we are both right, and also both wrong.

And to top the day off my youngest was born two hours after full time.![]()
My wedding day was a wonderful day, the birth of little BB was the most incredible moment but if I could re-live one 24 hour period of my life it would start at 8am on the 5th May 1990.....
But don't tell Mrs BB!
Actually, she knows!!![]()
Vaguely relevant, on the 18th Feb 1989 sufc were playing norwich, might have been the cup. I'd arranged to meet a mini bus full of southern blades on the M25 about 9 am. My missus went into slow labour about 6am and for a few moments I wondered if I could make the mini bus and be back in time. Sense prevailed and I stayed and my daughter was born just after full time. The lads in the mini bus did the decent thing and waited for 20 minutes then left. Think we lost anyway.
Also got beat by Norwich the day my eldest was born on 21st October 2000; one of the few times it didn't seem that important...Aye, 3-2, but we played bloody well.
View attachment 21156 this was outside the stag at woodhouse on the morning before the game.woodhouse and beighton blades.
