With over 18,000 season tickets sold some Blades want action.

Copied/pasted from anothr Blades board.

Can't believe you still give credence to any kind of bollocks that's printed in the papers or stuck on the official message board regarding transfers and the like. Bottom line is that we as a club won't ever spend a penny if we can avoid it, won't ever splash out on a real top liner, and we won't ever compete at the top level because we're a small minded club with happy go lucky fans and we get what we deserve. Forget all the gay "shoes off" crap, we as fans have put up with shit for so long now that we expect it so stop whining, get ready for the unveiling of the "fitter than ever" Nick Montgomery next season, and stop blaming Blackwell or his appointment. He's a good manager, he should be working at a better club than us.

The reason we can't sign big players has sod all to do with Blackwells pulling power, it's because we won't pay either the wages or the transfer fee. McCabe is full of shit, absolutely dripping with it and the sooner he sells us to some money grabbing get, who's interested in making some profit from SUFC the better. Maybe the new owner will see that we're a football club and not a property owning company

I'd be more concerned if it actually made sense, rather than being another random toys out of the pram rant. Then, again, a dig singling out Nick Montgomery, clearly the player who cost us promotion last year

Think I imagined £4mil for James Beattie and the always overquoted and whinged about wages we pay him.

I really do think there would be a cross section of Blades on suicide watch if we were ever in the state of most of our rivals.

Oh well, I guess it's my fault as a "happy go lucky" fan that I find pleasure in watching Sheffield United regardless of what they do on the pitch.

I must have imagined the £4 million we spent on Beattie last season... plus the rest. ;)

I must have been dreaming when we stole points off Liverpool and Arsenal in our season in the Premiership. Of course they aren't top teams we managed to compete with. ;)

It's interesting how this poster seems to think that a new owner would be good for the Blades, but where would this expansive windfall come from? Player sales, ground sales and training pitch sales are what immediately spring to mind. And I wouldn't call this a good thing for the club.

I do wonder why "some blades" go to matches if they can derive absolutely no pleasure out of it :)

And I also wonder why some people don't just post their opinions, just rely on others to have their say for them ;)

Linz = can't get happier than happy go lucky :D

Surely if McCabe sold out to some "money grabbing get" we would have less money to spend. Or is that just me simplifying things?

I like things simple, me.

Thing is as well, if things have "always been the same"... why expect anything else? Why bother getting frustrated about something we have no power to change? :)

It's like moaning that Microsoft is crap...like Bill Gates gives a shit, he knows you'll like it or lump it.

You either put up with watching United and have the occasional whinge. Or go away and do something else with your time and money.

It's a company at the end of the day, not a democracy... as much as people think putting their £400 in every season entitles them to an operating say in how the club is run.

Perhaps I'm just an apathetic youth... none of that Dunkirk spirit ;)

Well for once i fell very optimistic about the Blades, my guess is plenty will be spent this time round.

Just my two pennath but i think a lot of us older Blades have reason for a grumble now and then, we've been throught the years when the Blades HAD to sell players to pay leccy bill ! Mick Jones and TC stand out , imagine sellin BT to weeds for say £1million cause thats what happened with Mick Jones and TC stolen from us, i could go on but i'll stop or the optimism will dissapear from me.

Once a Blade always a Blade.

I always start the season in optimistic mood.

It's usually dissipated by Christmas but the lack of football over the summer means the start of the new season is only positively anticipated.

Plus I've said elsewhere, we finished 9th last season after an absolutely shocking start. The league might have more quality in it this year, but we hopefully already have the basis for a strong start. Any additions (trusting they are the right additions) can only improve our chances.

Fools leap where others look hard first. There is pleanty of time to add to an already strong squad. Remember we didnt make it last season because of the idiot in charge for 9 months, not because we didnt have a good enough squad.

Why BB in nearly everthing you put you always mention how long you've been supporting the blades and are allowed to have a moan and grumble about united cos of this?

Most of my older family members, some being going to the lane longer than you, are encouraging Mccabe as hes done wonders with the club. Just think back pre Mccabe when we were up shit creek. We have come on leaps and bounds from the usual united and yet he still gets slagged off.

no rest for the wicked.

I'm not sold on McCabe, as i've said before he's the best the Blades have had but that means nowt cause we've had some reight shit.

Id be happy if we signed Cotterill and left at that to be honest.

I think we have a decent enough squad as our end of season form showed.

Obviously a signing wouldnt go a miss but Id rather it we sign someone we need.

We all know how much you dislike him, but you go on and on questioning him. please give it a rest and think of something new.

Would you rather have dave allen?
Most Pig fans would love McCabe there.

Its not that i dislike him its more of 2+2=5 with McCabe anyway time will tell and perhaps sooner rather than later.

Lets see what the transfer window brings & then see were we are at Xmas. Personally i like McCabe. He's done wonders for the club & if he had bowed to certain sections of the support over the years we'd probably be worse off than Leeds.
