Must have watched a different game to me! He said we bossed the game except in the final third
Kept on about first loss in 10 games SO WHAT!
I think he got a few things wrong
1) Team Selection, only my opinion of course but we lost
2) Team tactics, we lost
3) Substitutions, we lost
4) Team Motivation, we lost
Can’t think of anything else he has to do as a manager!!!! Its not like we were at the races so I feel justified in my rant
He also said the players didn’t do what he asked, fair enough so WHY did he wait so long to haul someone off surely that would have got the message out “do as I say or you won’t be playing”
Hendrie got 6 minutes, how in the hell is he going to influence a game in that time.
We still haven’t won a game against any of our promotion rivals have we?

tbh, i think everything he said on radio sheff was bollocks. poor excuses mr blackwell.

He'd only just turned up for God(TM)'s sake. We went out of the Cup to an extremely spozzy goal. I think you're a fool for bringing this up.

Have to agree to a point here, but let's not lose sight of the fact that we were down to ten men for the majority of the match earlier this season (though did seem better with ten!), and certainly didn't have the rub of the green.

Last season I agree more with you. We got out of jail with a bit of Beattie brilliance, and we know it. That said, a derby against our fiercest rivals when (as we know both to our cost and success) all form flies out of the window is no way to measure a manager or squad.

Southampton

I assume you mean the match where we had a minute chance of getting to the play-offs? If you do, then you have no reason to criticise. We had a chance and even had we won, we wouldn't have made the play-offs.

The fact that that chance even existed after Sornob's efforts is a miracle in itself.

Birmingham

We started the season with probably the hardest fixture of all on paper, and no, it wasn't a classic (!), but we lost to a half chance deep, deep, deep into injury time. Without our talismanic striker too. Not a disgraceful result.

Now this I find funny. The home defeat wasn't my finest hour (see my signature if nothing else), but widely is held to be one of our better performances, and a very entertaining game in all, and the score certainly didn't reflect the play. The draw away is also seen to be a good result by most, if not all. What is your point?

At home this year? We weren't great, and also I recall that our formation made life easy for Reading. I can't argue on that one.

Not meaning any disrespect to the clubs involved, but in the current scheme of things if you really consider that matches against these two clubs are 'BIG' games, then you're not in my world. Unless of course you mean that ALL matches are big games. In which case why haven't you listed all defeats?

See my last sentence.

And yes, we were still absolutely appalling yesterday.

Blackwell just doesnt have the Tactical Nous to win the big games. Well done to Doncaster for showing Blackwell to be the inept tactical manager we all know he is.

I think we will all have different views on the manager, for my two peneth, I dont think he has got the tactical knowledge and he is making a group of, at best journeyman footballers, look diabolical.

Totally agree, i,m sorry to say that has to be up there with the all time shite games of all time. We couldn't have scored against Donny if the game had have lasted 3hours. The only slight diamond floating on the sea of shit last night was Kyle Naughton running down the wing in the 2nd half. I can only recall 2 shots at goal, Webber in the 1st half and the new lad Ward in the 2nd. That's 2 shots at goal against the mighty Donny rovers at home . No disrespect but we were'nt playing Reading even tho the blue stripes probably scared our team into thinking they were!
That has to be the worst display since the Robson era when the mighty Scunthorpe held on for the best part of 80mins with 10 men.
Now what was the old saying? Goalkeepers don't make managers?
Don't know what's wrong down at the Lane but I sure hope they sort themselves out, because the pigs will probably play better than Donny last night and it could get embarrasing:thumbdown:
As for bossing the game, well he was probably on about the away game surely?

He is becoming more like Warnock every day.

Just needs to have a few rants about the officials and he could Warnocks long lost brother.

Like Warnock....what would that be then? Getting us promoted automatically maybe?

His comments before the game included something about being pragmatic, and if we have to play unattractive football to win, we'll do it.

Sorry, Kev - but that only works when we get wins. I think last night showed up that we've been lucky in the previous 9 games. What's your excuse now that the luck isn't there?

Make no mistake, we're not 4th in the league due to the way we play. We're 4th because we've had the rub of the green, and that's not going to last forever - especially if you insist on:

- playing hoofball with a team full of midgets and one tall centre-forward who can't jump without conceding a free kick for elbowing someone in the head,

- playing a striker out of position on the wing, with the net effect that nine times out of ten, when he wins the ball he'll simply dribble it into the centre before being dispossessed,

- refusing to give our three international wide players - namely Gillespie, Cotterill and Carney - any time on the pitch to try and prove themselves,

- Not making subsitutions til the last minute - really, what was Hendrie going to do in six minutes? Why not make a double substitution earlier on?

I'm afraid that what we're seeing at the moment is not particularly a progression from 12 months ago. We still look lost, lascklustre and entirely lacking in a game plan. On top of this, your excuses, spin and double-talk is starting to grate - not just with me, but with quite a lot of the fans.

We play much better football when we're composed, when we give ourselves time on the ball, and when we play the ball on the park. The pitch is far better than I've seen it in ages, and what do we do - we cut it out completely and lump the ball through the air. We've proved in patches that we've got the skill and the ability to play decent football, and to get results from it, so why continue with this ridiculous non-tactic?

There are three big games coming up - against the filth, Hull and the Dingles. If we don't do better in these then I think Blackwell will really lose the faith of the fans - and that demonstrations are inevitable, not to mention the loss in season ticket sales for next year.

When Blackwell came to the Club he promised us honesty. I dont see how saying 'we dominated for most of the game' was honest. Unless I was watching a different match. Agree with what that Donny fan said he's been full of his own importance for the last 9 games!

If you're using that date as an example as to how long it took Warnock. The difference between the two is that Warnock had little money to play with, or quality players (on paper..). Blackwell does.
