I never understood why Oyston's name didn't come up during the Evans saga. (Maybe it did here - but not in the MSM.)

n May 1996 he [Owen Oyston] was convicted of rape and sexual assault and sentenced to six years in prison. Owen Oyston resigned his position as chairman of the club after losing his appeal against the conviction at the end of 1997. He was released from prison on parole at the end of 1999, though various attempts to clear his name – through a judicial review and even the European Court of Human Rights – have all been unsuccessful, with his appeal to the ECHR being described as “manifestly ill-founded.”

We are all on a high after Saturday and last night. Lay-down-and-die Blackpool in town on Saturday. Things couldn't be better. But let's all take a dose of realism here. Blackpool's losing streak has to come to an end. They always do and we've been at the end of them before today.

Got to respect them & all that (& indeed sympathise with them). But Saturday's a superb opportunity to stick the boot in & ramp up the speed on the momentum train !

They've got a pair of centre-halves who are 19 & 21 years old, got youngsters all over the pitch, & all this mixed in with a 36 year-old Emmerson Boyce & two or three plodders from Scottish football.

Golden opportunity, if ever there was one. (One which we'll no doubt go on & fuck up royally...)

Whilst I have every sympathy for Blackpool fans, I was always annoyed about their 3 division rise because they didn't win automatic promotion at any point - they won 3 straight playoff tournaments. What's more, they were the 7th team when they came up from league 2 and 6th in the Championship. And they had no other near misses - in every other season during their rise they finished in the bottom half of the table.

They are therefore the opposite of us and a bunch of jammy bastards.

I think its safe to say their luck ran out a while a go. Kudos to them for whatever they did right to win the play-offs because they have done a massively better job than we have at them.

Feel sorry for Blackpool fans, it seems they've just been damn right unlucky with the owner at their place.

Talking to a few Fleetwood fans last season and they were quite aggrieved by what they see as arrogant Blackpool fans turning up at their ground in numbers, wearing scarves a shirts and taking the mick. Can't say I blame them for being upset. No sympathy for those sort of fans if Oyston lets them go under.

I have plenty of sympathy for the Blackpool fans. Following your football team is such a big thing for a football fan. To see your club being run so badly and in a way that prohibits them from competing is a real kick in the teeth. They know that all they can do is boycott. But to do so is arguably cutting off their nose to spite their faces so to speak. It must be a horrible, powerless feeling that they’re experiencing. I hope somebody buys that club and makes it a real football club again.

In the meantime, I can entirely understand them trying to do a FC United type move to “reclaim” their club. Good luck to them (apart from between 3 and 5 on Saturday). Despite all the sympathy, I hope we show no sentiment or mercy on Saturday and keep our momentum going and give our goal difference a real shot in the arm.

i realy do feel sorry for them its a sorry situation they are in and i hope they can reclaim there club but unfortunaly i see them being relegated at least once and possibly twice before they get it back . but as i still have a sloght soft spot for blackpool after ian holloways era i hope they recover quicker than that and can at least stay up this season and get rid of the cancer that afflicts there club. as long as it starts after this saturday :).. anyway i predict a 3-0 win billy with one and che with the other two.

and good luck blackpool ! hope u stay up

I dont really give a monkeys about their fans
