  • Blackman money :

    300k to us
300k to blackburn for sell on clause
300k to us IF Reading stay up
300k to us IF and only IF Blackman scores 10 or more for Reading, this season

Basically translates as 300k to us.
    Its the truth

Surely if we only received £300k then there wasn't any point in moving on our leading goal scorer?

That £3ook is then offset with his replacement

Doesn't make any sense?

whoever has supplied you this information has not told you the truth on all 4 of those 'facts'....my source ? a senior' executive' at the club

That's a bit like my arrangement with the missus regarding the monthly housekeeping;

£300 - For a nice hot meal everyday.
£300 - For washing my pants and shirts etc.
£300 - For allowing me to go down the pub whenever I like.
£300 - For washing my back in the bath, and cutting my toe nails.

I think I am going to cut back on the toe nail payment (no pun intended) as I only have this done once a year now.

Have I missed something, I thought Blackburn released Blackman? therefore would not be able to negotiate a sell on clause? or could they do so with him being 22 when they released him

The only bit of this that isn't rubbish is the last two lines, about the Font. That's all.

While the "truth" may not be true, I know that £1.2M rarely equates to £1.2M immediately paid to a club. If it is £1.2M, I would say that it may equate to a few hundred thousand now, and the rest perhaps over the the next 18 months. I would also imagine that there will be clauses regarding success too. We could well see under £500k for him in the end, which would probably get lost in the noise floor of our deficit.

There's an opposite side to that deal too though - fees aren't paid up front - so if we were to buy we wouldn't have to pay up front either.

It doesn't really matter if money is paid immediately or not - unless the business has a cash-flow problem.

I'd heard that it was £1.2m "up front" (although as you quite rightly point out, that's often split into four or more 6-monthly payments) with some add-ons for future success.

Given that so many people hear so many things - isn't it just strengthening the argument for full and honest disclosure?

Maybe, but it most certainly strengthens the argument for ignoring numpties who post utter bollocks whilst overtly proclaiming 'the truth'.

FACT.

We can't buy anyone because the window has closed.

I was just making the point that is doesn't matter when the money comes - Fees are generally paid in installments - the only thing you lose is the few percent you'd have got in the bank.

Think we'll move this thread to where it belongs...

I quite like Tom Tom's moxy.

A welcome addition to the board.

It's only the truth if you can link it to some right wing numpty site as "proof" (Daily Mail is too lefty for this purpose I'm afraid, think American). FACT!

Schoolboy error Pinch, only a full stop after FACT still leaves a modicum of doubt. To be 100% true an exclamation mark is required.

I would have thought my revelation on this so called fee would have been accepted more readily. This is how we run our buisness now. Wake up and smell the coffee, Over time (as other SUFC deals) the truth will out when the dust has settled and the uproar will be minimal.......has anything similar happened before I ask you ? Well....has it ?
