Bits and Pieces for this Summer

I hope the trophy bonus for Peck from a London based club isn't from Tottenham or Crystal Palace. Both shot their load this year and aren't going to win anything anytime soon.

Would be really sad to see him go. Feels like we were just scratching the surface of what he can be as a player and frankly, another year in the Championship wouldn't hurt his development.

Palace perhaps but I think Spurs would be looking in a different market.

My bet would be Fulham or Brentford.

Whether this is true or not only time will tell but the noise on Hamer going seems to be getting louder.

I do think it's time for Brewster to move on. I'm sorry but I just don't rate the guy. If he wants to go then fair enough. I'd have released him anyway myself!

I’m not here advocating to keep BBD or Chouds but it’s slightly disappointing to find we wouldn’t be able to sign either due to wages, I would have thought chouds might be willing to come cheaper as he won’t get that money elsewhere

Would be sad to see Peck go, one of the things I was most looking forward to next season was a peck/Blaster midfield partnership

Club wish to extend Campbell contract.
Anyone know what contract is he currently on?
Think it was a 3 year deal.

The fact that he's done so well and probably more importantly been fit to play most of the season, he's earned a longer deal.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was Tottenham, they tend go after a lot of the younger players especially EFL), more so than the other "big 6" clubs.

Archie Gray, Deli Alli, Djed Spence, that young Burnley winger last summer (was it Koleosho?), just to name a few.

Technically you could include Brennan Johnson as "apparently" they first tried to sign him when Forest were promoted.

As soon as he got in that England elite youth squad, you just knew bigger teams were going to start really looking at him, as most of those players like Delap, McAtee, Trafford etc, are at PL clubs, or will be next season in Delaps case.

Im sure theres some players at our feeder club (Coventry) we could go for
If Hamer goes, we should get Rudoni (big ask but if it's doable, we should do it), Kitching is good with the right players around him as well.

Well not entirely unexpected, but I'm surprised we were interested in BBD, overall I feel he's been disappointing.
Well be sad to see Peck go, would be nice to hold onto to our talent for once, ah well.
If comes down to a choice between who starts between Peck and Arblaster, I guess Arblaster wins. So it makes sense to cash in

It's a shame if he goes. But I thought that when they sold David Brooks and that transfer probably funded promotion the following season

If Hamer leaves and Wilder stays I don't think we'll score more that 55 next season without a new assistant and other additions to the coaching staff. I don't think Wilder van build a modern attack

Agree in your statement. However I do think now is the time where we'd get most from selling Hamer.

I feel like he's hit his peak in terms of age and lifestyle.

Still think he's capable of magic moments but will become less and less impactful over the course of 90 minutes going forward.

Coming from a decent source.

Hamer (wants to leave) - willing to accept around 20m for him with minimum 15m upfront

Souza (willing to stay) - but will accept 15-20mill for him

Peck (deal done with london based club) - 15m with a future fee of 30% and a bonus if they win a trophy in the next 2 seasons

Robinson - 1 year option triggered (by the player)

Burrows - (2 PL clubs enquired) club say not for sale

Cooper - (Leeds and another unnamed club enquired) club say not for sale

Choudhury, JRS, BBD, Gilchrist, Clarke, Holding all go back - club want to sign BBD permanently and Choudhury, but wages are unattainable for both

Brewster - rejected first 2 contracts put to him been negotiating for months, club want him to sign for another season

Campbell in talks to extend his contract

Players and staff were in this morning for 2 hours rosen also there and every player had a 5min 1to1 with him

Wilder committed to next season board backing him.

All players under contract due back in for pre season on June 30th
Peck 15m doesn't sound that credible. He's not ready for that step up. He's done a fine job for us at this level, but hasn't yet shown that he's above this level. If there is truth to it, he should avoid it, he'll be lost in a youth team/loan cycle for a few years before moving to a Championship team to rebuild his career.

In defence of BBD. We’ve been playing him on the wing where he’s been average at best. However I think we should play him as a striker where he was more effective in the premier league season. I’d be happy to sign him up if the price is right.

If we continue to play him in a role where he's having to run sprints to get involved, I agree.

My preference would be to build a team round him and getting him the ball in the areas he can do the most damage but that would need a style that puts more value on control of the ball and attacking central areas. I don't see a situation where Wilder does that

I would personally let Hamer go if we can get £17m+ for him. I'm surprised Souza is ok with staying, however if the £15m for Peck is accurate, that would be good business (similar to Osula) as he is still realistically behind Arblaster when he gets back to fitness. I feel Brewster will want a fresh start somewhere else so him leaving makes sense. I'm surprised there is no news on Anel, but if he does end up leaving we should be able to double our money on him you would think. Robinson will likely run his contract down which is fine but another left footed CB would be on my radar. As well as a further two CB's. BBD shouldn't be in the conversation on getting a contract but I would like us to try and get Choudhury through the door. Add a RB, CM, ST and ×2 wingers (permanents or loans) and that should be enough for us.

Sell Peck for 15m, buy Doyle for 5m. Would be outstanding business. I don't believe he's leaving though, wouldn't be a good move for a PL club or him.

Peck for £15 million would be good business. They'd be paying for potential and it would be great business for the club.

Although, I rate this rumour 🧊🧊🧊🧊

£20 million would be good business.

I'm very surprised by this.

Good business. Like D Brooks. Picking up players from EPL clubs developing them and selling them on. He's certainly not worth anything like that at the moment.
Robinson - 1 year option triggered (by the player)
Great, If he's going to start and be captain then we're not going up.
Burrows - (2 PL clubs enquired) club say not for sale
I'd be surprised if the player would be happy with that.
Cooper - (Leeds and another unnamed club enquired) club say not for sale
Ditto
Choudhury, JRS, BBD, Gilchrist, Clarke, Holding all go back - club want to sign BBD permanently and Choudhury, but wages are unattainable for both
BBD has been largely crap. If Wilder intends to play him in the same position then signing him would be mad.
Brewster - rejected first 2 contracts put to him been negotiating for months, club want him to sign for another season
Great. Can we not sign someone who can play in the position we want to fill?
Campbell in talks to extend his contract
This would be a bizarre decision. He's contracted for 2 more years and has a poor injury record. We could quite easily end up with another crock on a long contract.

If we miss out on other targets because we're waiting on an answer from Brewster then I'll be annoyed, as it will be history repeating itself. We've been there before and lost out. Assume it's a no or give him a short deadline and move on.

For Brewster to be demanding better terms after everything this club has done for him over the last 5 years is a joke. Jog on son.

Let Brewster go and bring in Poky and Dolan instead. Both of them are an improvement on Brewster and Brooks.

Peck and Arblaster will be the midfield at the start of the next season. If the owners are serious they should get these two on long contracts
Now, having said that, if some Prem club wants to waste 15 million on a young, unproven at a prem level player, I'd say thank you very much. Don't think a prem club will be that daft. So anything less than 15 mil, bog off. He's our player and our future. Ollie Ai t going anywhere either.
Hamer l, take the money while his stock is high. Player of the year, got to be worth 20+ mil. He is replaceable and no I don’t who.

I like Peck. The problem with him at this exact moment is his lack of goals and assists.

It’s ok as a young player but to be a fixture in the team and not a defender and contribute nothing on that area does ask a lot from others, especially when Souza, who’s is intentionally more defensive also won’t add.

If we ended up with Arblaster and Souza and 35m in the bank then you have wiggle room. You still have O’Hare ad Davies though you need one more central midfielder. But I also expect more from Brooks next season. Despite his shot that Paterson only just saved, he has started to find the net a little. I must admit, thought I’m not a fan of inverted wingers on both sides, I do really like the chemistry when Seriki and Brooks play together down the right.

No mention of Anel?

have to agree with you there i would like to see campbell and bbd as a front 2 bbd looks lost playing out wide to me also think cannon may go back to stoke possibly in a cut price 7m deal

If we got £50m for Hamer, Souza and Peck, we could re-invest that really well.

We need to do what we did with Cooper and Burrows, and do what we did 5+ years ago with Stevens, Duffy's etc - Sign the best players from lower down the pyramid, especially those that have won POTY awards etc.

I'd say 80% of the time the 'View From' ends up giving a very clear prediction on how a player turns out - meaning I really don't think its as hard as some people make out.

Giving or receiving?!

We should cash in on him. I don't think we really have a choice as he only has a year left.

Positive head on.
Im resigned to losing Gus.
Souza staying would be brilliant.
Anel is replaceable.
Great news on Coops, Burrows and Campbell.
The Peck one would be crap, but Blaster is going to be a bigger player for us anyway.
