Perhaps you could give us the benefit of your 20 years' experience and tell us what Birch should have said.
More importantly, what should the fans do on Saturday to help the team secure that much-needed win?
(Let me guess - if the team doesn't score in the first 60 seconds, get on the backs of the players. Pick on a few scapegoats. If things don't improve, hurl abuse at the manager. A few choice words in the direction of the chairman and directors wouldn't hurt either. Isn't that what you usually do?).
To be honest, moaning on the net is about as bad as it gets. I think the fans have been very supportive over the last fe wuyars considering the total dross they've bveen served up. Doesn't alter the point that there was nothing wrong, for me, with Birch's rallying cry.
A price cut type gesture by the club might help.
