Birch says we need to stick together

Perhaps you could give us the benefit of your 20 years' experience and tell us what Birch should have said.

More importantly, what should the fans do on Saturday to help the team secure that much-needed win?
(Let me guess - if the team doesn't score in the first 60 seconds, get on the backs of the players. Pick on a few scapegoats. If things don't improve, hurl abuse at the manager. A few choice words in the direction of the chairman and directors wouldn't hurt either. Isn't that what you usually do?).

To be honest, moaning on the net is about as bad as it gets. I think the fans have been very supportive over the last fe wuyars considering the total dross they've bveen served up. Doesn't alter the point that there was nothing wrong, for me, with Birch's rallying cry.

A price cut type gesture by the club might help.

Being that the manager has also come out and said pretty much the same thing without the same abuse speaks volumes.

You're really going to post that?

Looks that way doesn't it. In 36 years I have never got on players back at the Lane and won't start now. If I wish to be a keyboard warrior in the mean time I will be without some smart twats calling me a so called fan.

Like I said in my 1st post on this subject. Tricky should have left this to MA; the fans do not want to hear from him right now

He also said that MA has the tools to steer us away from this predicament so don't expect any signings anytime soon.

I wouldn't read too much into that. However much we all know otherwise, they have to publicly back the players we have.

So what you're saying is: you agree with what's being said, but you just don't want to hear it from one person, you want it from someone else.

You can try and put words in my mouth all you like. Trevor is not and never will be a Blade. He is practically an overpaid contractor who has managed to get away with doing fuck all for 2 years. For him to turn round and say we are all in it together is a bit rich. Now if it had come from the manager, players or fans I would agree we are all in it together. Also, Birch will not be here at the end of the season.

Does that answer your question better?

It could be argued that many of the players are much the same. Thank you for confirming what I said. What's important is not the message, but whose mouth it comes out of.

did you read my 1st post properly? I have never argued about what was said, but who said it

This is what I said....

This article would have been better coming from Adams, even if the words of Tricky Trev!

Go and crack one off, you will feel better for it :)

He shouldn't have said anything, we don't need Birch telling us what needs to happen - we can see it with our own eyes.

And no - we need to get behind the lads, 100%. Show them that we give a shit. Maybe they'll start showing a little more as well.

Oh, and I've never 'hurled abuse' as you put it. But Birch is one of the problems at our Club at the moment sadly, and when he comes out saying stuff it gets under my skin and I'm gonna react. You ever seen me get on the backs of the players? No. Please don't judge me without knowing me.

Crap article on the OS and a crap interview on footy heaven earlier,I don't understand why the board are doing nothing even though we are right in the shit! They should have come out with abit of money in Jan and made a couple of quality signings.nope we get Neil Collins.

If we lose saturday and Crystal Palace win we will be 7pts away from just getting out the relegation zone..not good! I hate to say it and want to be positive but IMO were down,I can't see a way out of this mess with the squad we have.Hate seing Bramall Lane half empty but we had better get used to it.

Thought it was Bryan Ferry who said lets stick together.

You've missed the point of an interview. Someone asks questions and then someone else gives answers. Saying nothing would be a bit boring or Meg Ryan.

Nice one Trev. Get everyones backs up.

Your damn right we will be looking for blame at the end of the season.
