Be reight , all will be forgotten when he score int next match , everyone will be chatting his name again !

Thought we were below par tonight....not that bad and nothing to worry about yet.

The only positive for me was Berge...he played similiar to Lunny at his best...loads of strength and energy.....but better quality on the ball.
Norwood had quite poor game and Berge gave us a new dimension in midfield...promising display.
If Berge becomes the one to dictate play (and he looks more and more capable of that) then what becomes of Norwood?

There was one attacking moment last night and Sharp was on the left wing.

Now, Sharp ain't going to score from there, he's a goalscorer, he will score goals, but not from that position.

Play him central, no running off to the left, the right, stay within the width of the penalty area all the game, let others provide.

Sorry to say it, again, but he does not have one attribute to make him effective enough to make a difference at this level

Constantly outmuscled, off the pace and final ball woeful when he had the chance to set McBurnie up with a simple 5 yard pass. Decided to blast it to the South Stand advertising boards.

Most worrying thing for me is him and McBurnie starting together upfront again. It’s like we learned absolutely nothing watching them last season. It’s our worst partnership by a mile. It doesn’t work, never has and never will.

A positive to end it though: Sander might be fit to start next time out and him in for Lundstram makes us levels better. He is an incredible player.

Don't agree with much you say G man but 100% agree on Billy and the Billy/McB partnership, it's dog shit and encourages hoofball.....

Personally it is Sander for Norwood and I would try Burke instead of Lunny.......Burke is supposed to be able to play anywhere down the right as well as up top so why not? Norwood can sit on the bench with Billy for the rest of the season for me, can't pass water, can't beat the first man, can't create space so goes backwards....

.

You’re right about this. But there were no other options.

mousset is injured again
McGoldrick has been injured and is no better
Burke is not a striker

We are desperate for new blood up top.

We don't have a good enough team to carry a goalscorer who can't offer anything else

We should just treat Sharp as a solid late round sub if we're chasing a goal. I love him and want him to finish his career with us, but he's just not good enough for a place in the first eleven of a Premier League team. We seriously need a striker if we have any ambitions of finishing in the top 10.

I swear to god that I watch a different game to some on here.

Sharp did ok last night. Whether ok is good enough is another matter, but to single him out for special criticism is strange at best.
You must do because Billy was dogger.
If that was Leon Clarke putting in that performance he's dragged from pillar to post.

Looks like the Biscuit Tin lid needs prizing open quicker than you can say 'Billy Sharp'.
Can SUFC not afford to go out and spend more than ever before on a player who will score goals?
The going rate is growing by the hour, time for The Prince to splash the cash.

We need someone to create chances first before we worry about a striker

Dont think Sharp was great but he was an awful lot better than McBurnie. Put himself about against an excellent defence and made some very good runs.

The Wolves defence must've thought they were still on holiday when the SUFC team was announced.
As for McBurnie, the only consistency I can see so far is that he's extremely inconsistent.

I'm not colour blind but wasn't aware it affected red & white & gold, well Lundstram kept passing to their players so it must do.

We looked incredibly lightweight up front last night - both forwards too ponderous and touch was not good, but they fed on scraps from a midfield that created very little, was erratic in passing (Lundstram and Norwood giving it away too often) and looked short on invention (Lunny did at least get forward once and Fleck one decent shot) but other than that it was drab and one-trick pony stuff which Wolves coped with more than easily. At the back there seemed some adjustment issues with the change of keeper - Henderson came off his line a lot more than his replacement does - plus JoC didn't look fit and Egan was a bit ragged. Another lockdown performance sadly. I genuinely think the crowd's absence is hurting us. Let's hope for a big improvement next time out or this season will be a struggle.

Weird how fans that have regularly chanted about our players being written off as 'journeymen' (only to then watch them succeed), can them write off the very same players with so little respect.

Do people not remember where we were? We have a tiny wage bill for the league we are in and have recently been in league 1. Given that, we will obviously be carrying some players that aren't top half PL standard. Where this entitlement has come from I don't know, but all this top 10 talk is just embarrassing. Top 10 is a miracle for this club atm, not what we should expect.

I don’t think you are sorry to say it again. You like the attention garnered by slagging off our most iconic current player.

He wasn’t constantly outmuscled and off the pace.

He still shows great bursts of speed, gets into the right places, holds and distributes the ball well, shows the guile to get free kicks in dangerous areas and scores goals. One of the very best poachers in the games. Always gives 100%, great Captain and motivational influence.

Off the ball he was excellent. Got into some great positions. On the ball he was really poor and wasted some really good opportunities

There was a moment in the second half where he got the ball on the left at the halfway line with no support near him and my immediate thought was the best we could get from that position was a well-won free-kick. What actually happened was a huge surprise – not only losing his marker, but somehow evading what I was expecting to be a challenge into touch when he was caught up with, and then holding onto it till support arrived. It was bafflingly impressive, and I’m someone that has talked up his link-up work in the past.

However, in the box he looked extremely rusty. The cross to Lundstram was over hit, and you really would have preferred him to show some of that selfishness of old to take the shot himself. He does tend to thrive when in a run of games – unfortunately for him, I suspect he won’t be getting them. Which is fair enough, as at this stage we really shouldn’t be expecting him to regularly start.

YoUr'E nOt A rEaL bLaDe MaTe! Or so those online will say if you voice that opinion.

I think Sharp is sadly way out of his depth at this level, we also don't create enough to make him effective in his role. Its a massive shame because he will always be a legend in every one of our eyes. His work ethic and commitment can not be faulted and no blade would begrudge him the opportunity at this level, hes just not got the quality and that's no fault of his, we've just outgrown him. He's earnt the right to give it a shot!

I'm not saying we have better options, i just don't think hes at the level we need. The same can be said for most of the strikeforce.

I believe all you say is spot on, we must give credit to Wolves as they are probably going to be a top six club, Leicester, Everton even, could possibly be heading in that direction too. For this to happen some clubs are going to fall down the pecking order, Chelsea are throwing money at it to ensure its not them. At this point in time what have we got to throw at it, thankfully, Chris Wilder!.
