Amazed that he never got on the pitch today.

I thought that if fit enough for the match day squad, there was no way he wouldn't get on.

But yet again Wilder got the substitutions spot on.

FOUR goals at the rust bucket and Billy & Ched not even featuring.

One of the most wonderful & remarkable days in United history

I hope Billy gets his chance to stuff it up them in the return leg.

I agree in part, but mainly, who cares? We beat the fowls at the sty, what a win!!! Brooks for England.

Yeah - I know, but he must have been so gutted to not get on and still as ever, carried himself with good grace, putting United first. Top bloke and didn't want him completely overlooked.

Billy will be fine, in fact he'll be glowing that we beat wendy without our strongest team.
,
Superb performance from us, they were played off the park by a far superior team - we had method, pace, our team play was far better, our threat was constant, and we made their team of overrated losers take a long hard look at themselves. Humiliated and rightly so. UTMB!

Would have prob brought him on for the last 5 to waste some time and so he could get on the pitch.

But 2 goals ahead we had the luxury of not rushng him back and risking him. Shame for him though cos I know he would have been desperate to get on.

United are first, last and everything. Sharp has no more right to 'get on' than anyone else and I hope he'd be the first to say that. Sentimentality doesn't win games, points or promotions.

He's nowhere near fit, by the way.

Sorry. This smacks of Sunday League under-15 thinking. We're a professional football club.

Loved it when he joined in singing with the fans at the end

Not surprised at all he didn't get on, he's not fit, I think he was there as a pre match psychological boost for the fans.

If Donaldson had been fit I suspect he would not have made the bench,

If no where near fit - then why was he on the bench. No place for sentimentality.

I don't think he was ever going to be playing but was always there to give Carlos something to think about. That or we just didn't need him against that shower ! Haha

Yep - That's why I'm not a manager. And its why I said I would have put him - i'd have been buzzing to see billy get on against 30k at the Sty.

But we've got someone in charge now - who knows exactly what the right thing to do is and does it regardless of any sentiment.

I'd have played brooks for the last 10 games last year but wilder knew better and we got 100 points

Because we'd no-one else up front? My favourite player is Paul Coutts. I think he's a quality player and a top bloke but I wouldn't dream of suggesting he should play so he wouldn't 'feel overlooked'. It's amateurish and embarrassing, be it Coutts, Sharp or anyone else.

We use the right players at the right time to achieve victories and success, not because they're Bladey favourites or we want to 'get them on the pitch' for some fairytale reason.

You must be replying to the wrong person as I never said that either.

Sharp was never fit and was probably put on the bench for other reasons, maybe psychological reasons on our part and theirs.

He's not fit.. no need to risk
Him against that shower of pork today

Didn't pay his sub money, and forgot to wash his kit, after the pub league game at graves park last week.

Said on Sky that Billy was 10 days into his 3 week treatment, but didn't say what the injury was.I don't think there were any plans for him to play today,he was on the bench purely as captain and talisman of the team, therefore it was 6 subs and Billy !!!!
